Mom Wants Xbox To Foot The Bill

I'm not going to give their names because really they should be called Dingbat and Dingbat Jr.
Dingbat Jr here racked up $1700.00 on his Xbox 360. Here is the article peice with my 2 cents threw in. I'm the one in blue!..blue dammit!

"She entered her debit card details into the family Xbox to pay for Brendan's subscription to his favourite game.

Must be the game Splosionman he wanted to play cause she wouldn't be setting him up to play COD or Halo since they are mature games, only meant to be played by people 18 and up, right!!

However, Brendan repeatedly clicked on additions and extensions - racking up a $1700.00 debt to her account over six months.

You honestly believe that this kid on Xbox didn't know what he was doing?? OF course he did, he was well aware that he was spending money, granted he probable never knew how much money he was spending due to the everything being in microsoft points...but he was no innocent angel in this either. AND 6 Months!!....I check my statement every month, I know what my balance and my limit...So you don't check your credit card statements...so your a moron at life as well?

But Dawn wants her experience to be a lesson to other parents and blames Microsoft for making it 'too easy' for her son to spend the money.

She said: 'Brendan is 11 and knows his times tables but it was only when I explained to him that he realized how much money he had spent.

This means that you are a stupid and neglectful parent and brought this upon yourself. I damn well make sure that my kid is well aware of the content that he is accessing and educate him how it works. What to do and what not to do, and hes a avid gamer like myself. If you take the time to take a interest in your kids hobbies, then maybe you be a better parent.

'When he is in gaming mode he can't be thinking about the money. You can't put all that responsibility on a young boy.

Gaming MODE!!!.....He's 11. When you call out for dinner and he doesn't respond. You do what my mom did with me. You've come in unplug the game console....."I said...Dinner...Is....Ready....so it looks like so are you". That has to be the stupidest comment I've heard come from a parents mouth....gaming mode!!??

'It is impossible to monitor everything your children do. These companies should take some responsibility. They take advantage of vulnerable people.'

He's ELEVEN!!!!.......Good lord!!....He's in the same house as you when he's playing games isn't he?? You can check his account, look at his transactions, it literally takes 2 min. You don't have two minutes to check up on your son and what he's been doing online?

A spokesman for Microsoft claimed that a parental control setting would have prevented Brendan from spending Dawn's money.

Yeah, this is whats called parenting...look it up!

He said: 'With over 30M Xbox LIVE members across the world customer complaints of this nature are extremely rare" -End article

The picture that these two have doesn't help the case. The mother looks like one of those wives from the House Wives show, where they are all rich and have nothing better to do than complain. The kid...well.....I won't say anything about him. He is a product of his environment unfortunately....and his environment apparently is Candy land.

Plus, the kids background on his XBLA is some half naked model.....that's appropriate for a 11 year old right? If she would just turn her head around and look at the TV...Does she even know where the TV is....Does she know what a TV is???...Turn around your F'n head...My first response would be, "why is there a picture of a half naked girl on your game?.....remove that now to something more appropriate"

I'm pretty sure 11 years old is not age where everything evolves around your wiener! This woman is a moron......shes right, this needs to be used as example for other people. But not in the way she thinks...they need to used as to how not to parent and taking responsibility.

wow.... I don't even spend that much for anything in 6 months, lol. It would have been better if she just bought him a pre-paid card

Again...I don't think she is the smartest fork in the drawer.

This was a good read. Love the comments. (IN BLUE DAMMIT)

These people are also the reason insurance companies and lawyers are so rich. I wish Darwin's law would wipe these people off the face of the earth. But sadly they are "insulated" from the danger of their own stupidity too much.

Yeah, I read more from the article. Apparently she is a single mom with another kid, a daughter who is older.

The mom has two jobs and doesn't have money to throw around. That's all well and good mame, but try opening your credit card statements a little more often than once every 6 months.

If your kid is stupid... and spending your money. Give him a book, instead of a button that spends money.

Also, when you say you son "knows his times tables"... that means you and your son should set down and do some reading, and book learning'. Or even some internet video learnin'. You clearly already paid for the internet hook up... go look up a video on how bills work and play it for your kid. Since you clearly don't have time to take notice of the kid yourself. Birth control could totally save the economy if we could go back in time and force it on people like this lady.
