Whats Wrong with the World!!??

Article from IGN
"April 7, 2010 - Activion announced that the Stimulus Package, the first map pack released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, was downloaded over one million times on Xbox Live in the first 24 hours of its release on March 30.

Priced at $14.99, first-week sales reached 2.5 million downloads in total. The Stimulus Package is currently only available for download on Xbox Live, making these sales all the more impressive for Activision.

Comparatively, first-week sales of the first map pack for Call of Duty: World at War reached one million downloads across Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, and only cost $10 at launch."

What the FUCK is wrong with people, when this news first came out all the game sites forums and comments were all in a up roar about Activision charging too much and that the gamer is being ripped off.

I don't know what to say??
1) If you didn't complain about it and bought the packs, then that ok. You see that its all ok and went with it.

2) If you did complain and bought it anway, (which alot of people were doing in comments) then you are a idiot!

How will companies learn that they can't rip of gamers with High prices. Good lord, have some self control and respect for yourself has a consumer!!

Its like a crack whore who sucks off the homeless dude in the alley because he promises you 25 cents and in the end all he has is a bottle cap. Then he turns around and says, "oh wait, here is the 25 cents, but seeing has I just gave you a bottle cap you'll have to give the ole one eye a tug again". And like the moron you are, you go right back to work for that purposed 25 cents.

It Hurts the brain to see numbers like that, cause all it does is make you all talk and no action. Then to hear all the complaining, ARRHHGG,m dhdkfjsdhfkjshdkhsdfsdlf, God damit people!!

Either buy the shit and live with, but don't open your god damn mouth about how unfair it is if you buy it anyway because good ole Activision doesn't care what you think, only the money that you fork over.

So if you like getting F'd in the bum region, then by all means, take it up the woohoo and keep your mouth shut!!!I would love to get the marvel ulitmate alliance 2 extra characters pack, but I ain't paying for it. Same with Transformers, War for Cybertron, I'm waiting for a second hand copy. Is this too hard to do?! are we a bunch of mine, mine, now, now?? From the looks of it, I guess we are.

too true man. I saw the price of the Stimulus Package when it came out and i was pretty shocked. It was fairly high for a map pack, so I didn't bother downloading it.

however on the same day Bad Company 2 came out with it's smaller map pack for free so I played that instead. I love Dice.

Just wait for the stimulus package to drop in price. It will

I bet when it does finally drop in price, it will be the regular price for all the other map packs.Bummer!

Couldn't agree with you more, because people are still buying it they will think that they can do anything they want.

Oh well guess they are trying to cash in while they can. Rumor has it that if shit hits the fan in the lawsuit with IW, that the IW guys could walk away with title in the end. This in which will prevent anyone from using it again. Personally I was never a fan of either title.

I think a big problem with the Modern Warfare DLC is that a sizable portion of their fan base are kids and people who don't play a lot of other games. Getting them to speak with their wallets is going to be a lot more difficult.

As far as Bad Company 2 goes I don't think Dice are the saints they're trying to make themselves out to be. The free map pack was already on the retail disc. So basically they locked out content you paid for, for a month. It wouldn't bother me so much if the game didn't have so few maps to begin with. Only 4 for each mode and 2 of those you only got if you bought it new. At least Modern Warfare gave you 16 maps to start out with.

At least Dice didn't charge for the locked maps unlike Resident Evil 5.

True they were locked, but they were still free and it is crappy that developers are locking content on a disc.
Nothing should be locked on any disc but I understand that they want to extend the life of a game which is good. But don't charge for it, but if its free then I got no problems with that.
