Extra Content - Starwars: The Force Unleashed

Extra Content seems to be all the rage these days. I must admit that I find myself every now and then buying into these extras for games. Some extras help gameplay, new weapons, upgrades, new levels, extra game options, etc.

They usually cost between 99 cents to $4.99 for add on. And if you wait long enough, sometimes they become free or lumped together with older addons for a reduced price.

I'm a big starwars fan, so anything starwars usually gets my attention, good or bad. So when I heard that there was going to be downloabable addon for the game, I was very interested in what it was going to be.

The first piece of downloadable content for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed offers additional costumes and character models that can used while playing through the single-player campaign. Costumes in the pack include: Hooded Combat Gear, General Starkiller, Sith Assassin, Imperial Commando, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, Darth Sion, Ki-Adi-Mundi and Kit Fisto. And it will run you $4.99.

I downloaded it and it doesn't change any of the game play, its just lets you play through the game has one of many starwars characters. I guess thats pretty neat, but if the characters offered a little more, maybe increased speed, more defense, more force or different force powers. Then, I think people may be a little more interested in getting these things.

There is also a second character pack that has seven new characters including Republic Trooper, Tatooine Luke, Ben Kenobi, Jedi Master Plo Koon, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, and C-3P0. Followed by an Apprentice Mission Pack that contains a new single-player mission set in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. You’ll also get 6 brand new characters and 3 all new Secret Apprentice costumes.

The last 2 I haven't gotten. It appears that they are big on character skins and are hoping that fans like myself will buy these extra skins. But like I already said, if they did more than just put on a new pair of pants, then maybe I be a little more interested. But if you are a big , bigger than man, which is not really hard, I'm not that hardcore, then you may want to see your favourite character swing around a lightsaber. The prospect of seeing C3P-0 does appeal to me.

As a Star Wars fan, I can highly recommend Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition. Even if you are not a huge Star Wars fan, the game is worth playing for the intriguing story, action, and adventure involved.
