First time luck.
I hate this! Does this happen to anyone else?
It happens to me ALL THE TIME with any sort of time trial or race.
I get thrown into the race for the first time.
INSTANT PANIC!!!
Things are flying at me, things are shooting at me, passing me,etc. And of course the goal of the thing is to be first. So I go in a blind panic and usually breeze through the thing, making it to the end barely in time.
Then, seeing that I can actually do it, I go back and try doing it better since I know where most things are and what I have to do.
But what always ends up happening is I do continually WORSE every time I try.
I fall off things, in holes, get turned around or stuck, bump into wall, explode, run out of time ...
Each try worse then the previous.
I get madder and madder and in the process worse and worse.
Why? WHY?! WHYYYYYYYYY????!!!!!
I'm doing a jump/run course in Saint'S Row IV and it is making me MAD AS HELL!!!!
I need to go take a walk. :P

Duck Tales - PS3
First off, a confession: I never played the original on the NES. In those days, I had to shell out all the game purchases myself and being in my early teens, I had no other revenue then occasional birthday money. So, any game I purchased had to be a sure thing, which I reserved for Super Mario Bros. Also, we never had cable and I only learned on the late about Duck Tales, when I caught a random episode while on vacation in the U.S.
I don't have to nostalgia associated with it that most people have, which means I have to take the game at it's face value, REMEMBERING that it's an NES game.
And I loved it!!! It brought me back to when I first liked video games.
I've seen many reviews complaining that it's a short game ....
IT'S AN NES GAME!!! They were all short!
I don't know if they were expecting an extended single-player campaign of 12 hours, but knowing what the source is, you can't go complaining about that!
The character animations are stunning. They look like what it would be like to have an interactive animated show. The attention to details is amazing. I can't rave enough about it.
I would get myself eaten by plants or knock on walls on purpose just to see the animations. It totally feels like the cartoon. All the sprites have been lovingly redrawn and animated. Truly impressive the amount of detail they put in them.
The backgrounds are all right. They're not fantastic, but they're serviceable and don't clash with the animations. The designs and render sketches are gorgeous. Too bad that didn't translate into the game.
But where things really fall short visually is in the objects in the game. The gems, chests and animated vehicles. For some reason, they decided to go 3D, which REALLY doesn't match the rest of the visuals. And it just looks like cheap 3D, something a 1st-year animation student would do. I would even go as far as to call it sloppy. It's a shame that it brings everything down a notch.
Having the fully voiced audio is fantastic! Reinforces the feeling of playing an episode even stronger. I felt they added to the strength of the game.
And yes, Webbigail is still 100% annoying.
Most complains I've heard/read about the game are from reviewers that compare it to modern games.
- You have to start back from the beginning if you die!
- The game mechanics are simplistic!
- It's so short!
- There's no depth to the story!!
Umm .... it's an NES game from about 20 years ago. You can't bring those arguments! It's not a sequel. It's an HD remastering. Just take it for what it is, not what you wished it would be. It's not the second coming of Xenu!
In my opinion, I had fun. It looked gorgeous (barring those horrible 3D things) and made me nostaligic for that time. I loved it. :)

InJustice Gods Among Us DLC Characterse
I really enjoyed this game, but remember the days, where you had to unlock all the extra secret characters?..Those were good times. oh well, I will always have my memories..and for anything extra..you'll be coughing up $4.99 per character.
All pretty cool, but not $30 cool, not for me but I understand for fans, for sure. And if you can wait, Im sure there will be a game of the year edition which will include all the new characters and skins and missions. So hold on people..I'm still waiting for Borderlands 2 game of the year edition with all its goodies!!!

Cloudberry Kingdom Developer Nutbars
So I'm fascinated now about how or why this game was made..cause ..honestly...why would people play this?!
So hear the story of the nutness that created this.
So hear the story of the nutness that created this.
Cloudberry Kingdom : WHY?!?
I love platformers just as much as the next person. Remember the days of playing Mario and you were in the dungeon and you encountered 2 spinning fire wheels. Weren't you just thinking..this would be much more fun, if there was 50 spinning fire wheels..cause really..I need a challenge.
This game made me frustrated just from watching the trailer. Why would anyone want to do this to themselves?!?..This game blows my mind. I rather take my money and give it to a guy so he can hold me down and slap my face and call me names for 20 min.
If you buy this..I think it proves you like inflicting pain on yourself. I don't have any other explanation.

Dungeon Defenders Thoughts
Another title I got free with Playstation Plus. I wasn't really interested in the game, but it looked decent enough and free. So I thought, eventually I will get around to playing it.
Finally last week, playing co-op locally with my brother I've been able to really get into this game. After many hrs of play, the one thing that stands out is that the characters are unbalanced. This game is meant to be played by 4 people, online or locally with split screen. Currently is just me and my brother playing locally.
But each person gets to choose 1 of 4 characters. A Mage, Fighter, Hunter, and Monk. The game list these characters as easy -Mage medium-Fighter veteran-Hunter - Hard - Monk. I guess to let you know, that using certain characters will make the game more easier or harder depending on who you pick. Weird way to do it..but sure. And what if you have 4 players, and all 4 characters are chosen. Does it do a average??.
I choose a Mage..just because..not because it was easier or harder..but because I wanted to see what he did and how he played. My Brother choose a Monk. Quickly you find out that they each have their own abilities, Towers that you can build that help you during your fight.
I should mention this is a RTS..you get build phase, combat phase. Which you build towers, place them in strategic places and then combat..you can run around and kill and repair and build extra towers if need be.
But that's where the game falls flat. Cause at the end of the round..I have 84 kills...and my brother as 490 kills. WHY??..cause of Tower selection. Its so one sided that even though we started at the same time..hes 4 levels above me. Which leaves me struggling when fighting monsters.
This is prevalent in the other two characters aswell. The Fighter and Hunter...the game should compliment eachother. But it takes your kills into consideration as XP. Sure you can get points from repairing, picking up items..but its small when compared to kills. He is getting almost 5 times more kills than me.
We can do a level and he will go up 2 levels and I will still be stuck on the same one.
The game characters are very very unbalanced. I have never seen such a varying degree in power in a coop game before. After knowing all the characters, why would anyone want to be the mage or hunter? All you need is the fighter and monk. The other two characters are the Robin to your Batman .
Some may argue that they compliment eachother, weaknesses and such. NOooo, the difference is so tiny, its not even worth it.
That being said, the game is fun..and more fun with more people. But if you are going to play, play the Knight and the Monk.

FallOut New Vegas and 75 hrs
Once a year I get in the mood to play a RPG, but because of my broken brain and wanting to do everything in a game, I have to do everything..every side mission.etc. So RPG's can become time consuming for me and I end up putting hundred plus hrs into a game.I only play them once a year.. and this time it was FallOut New Vegas. I played Fallout 3 and it was great and picked up Vegas for 20$ so that seemed like a steal. Got in the mood to play it and said to myself that , "ONLY DO THE MAIN MISSION".
So that's what I did, only played missions if I came across them, I didn't go looking for them, I didn't explore. But if I got one..I would do it if it seemed like it was part of the main mission.
That's where the trouble began I suppose, or they did a great job with linking all the missions together. The majority of the missions were pretty well tied to the main quest. They all flowed into one another pretty well. Im sure there were missions that were their own thing that had nothing to do with the main quest. But for me not actively going out to find them all..it was pretty good.
That being said, it took me up to 70 hrs to get near the end. The last 5 hrs was me trying to get the ending I wanted..and failing. I was playing the game as a NCR member and was trying to get the ending that involved them. But no matter what I tried and I restarted check points to try and get that ending, I failed. With 75 hrs in..I was tired of it..I just wanted the game to end and move on to something new.
I said fuck it and finished the game with Mr House. Boooooo. I guess maybe I had to find a side mission that opened up the ending for the NVR, but I have no idea. All I know is I put 75 hrs into a game I would want the ending I worked for that whole time.
AAAAANNND with that New Vegas is done, Thank the hairy jebus balls! Now I can move on to some other games and get rid of some backlog.
