Happy New Year and Jazz That it Is!!

Finished Deadspace 2...thought about going back and platinuming it, seeing as I platinumed the first one. But then I looked at all the games in my back log and realize that if I want to ever play them and not accumulate more...then I need to move on.

Just looking what needs to be done to plat DS2...its gonna take me another 30 plus hrs. Heck..that's the game time of at least 2 more games at 15 hrs a piece. So many more games need to be taken of my list first. For now..I have to force my OCD down in a hole and not worry about completing it to 100% and start a new game, maybe Batman, City...maybe infamous 2?...who knows. Perhaps I'll just go back and play some stress free Battlefield.

Anywho...last post of the year..a couple more days before work starts up again...a new blog happening soon that will display my transformer collection. Here's to a New and Happier Year to everyone. Play friendly my fellow gamers.

Merry HanaKwanamast !

Haven't been posting on here as of late, as Bob Cratchet said to Scrooge after arriving 18 min late the day after Christmas," I've been making rather Merry as of late". Just a little update over the holidays.

Ive gotten my P11 Turtlebeach headphones.I only have one thing to say about them,"Where have they been my entire life?!" I must have been living under a rock when it came to gaming with a good set of headphones.

I waited on playing DeadSpace 2 on Jay's comments that it enhances the atmospheric experience with headphones. And boy! does it ever!!! I played for 45 min and had to turn it off cause my heart rate was racing...it probable didn't help that I was playing late at night with the lights off. But holy shit...I was honestly enthralled, sucked in to the game.

So many sounds, noises that you just don't hear when you play regularly...even surround sound doesn't compare. Your hearing bumps..too the left..too the right...what was that over there. I found myself turning my head in the room, let alone in the game. I even frighten myself a couple times..when a door slammed..and I thought it was in door in my room.

Tried Battlefield 3 with them and its like discovering a whole new game. Bullets zipping by your head...following the sounds of gun fire to locate a sniper laying down. Its amazing.. I honestly can say without a doubt..that these headphones change the way I see and experience games. They are amazing..anyone who have never tried them...you are doing yourself a disservice by not playing with these....they are amazing!!

I don't think I will play games any other way now..and if these headphones exploded tomorrow..I run right out and get another pair. Fantastic..do yourself a favor and go get some today.

I Had Knee Surgery This Year - I Didn't Take a Arrow to The Knee

Thanks to Rowan(Ian) for finding this for me...now it all makes sense. Why this one line took off the way it did I'll never understand.

Arrow in the Knee

I don't understand where all this " I was fine until I took an arrow to the knee" stuff that's all over the internet. Is it from a game? Is it from skyrim?

Battlefield 3 in Real Life

There are also alot of these video's out there, but this one is damn well done. There are parts where they cut to different perspectives, but overall, its bang on.

Battle Christmas!!!

There are a ton of these videos of people setting their Christmas lights up the beat of a particular song. Well..keeping with the trend, this guy did it to the Battlefield 3 theme.

Peaches

I'm from a very small fishing community..but I distinctly remember when I was 13-14 years old when a stripper came to preform at the local bar. I never saw her, but she was the talk of the town for weeks....her name was Peaches.

Merry Christmas to Me

Jay over at Portable Soldier said that the best way to play Dead space 2 was with headphones, so you can really hear everything that the game as to offer, to really imerse oneself into the atmosphere of the game. Even with other games, it really does enhance all the sound one hears.

After much consideration, I gave in and got myself a sweet pair of turtle beach head phones. Considering I am using a $20 pair right now( and they are pretty good, i've been using those for over 4 years now, and they are great for what they are.) I did go and get myself what I think is a nice little upgrade.

Now I am going to be able to really see what all the hoop blah is all about, I can only imagine that its going to be awesome. Just have to wait a little over a week to try them out is all. Can't go giving myself it early..considering as adult we buy stuff for ourselves all the time, have to keep some traditions alive I suppose.

Starwars The Force Unleashed 2 - PS3

Loved the first one, got super excited for the second one when all the trailers came out, the cinematic trailers that is, no in game stuff.

But after I read the reviews and friends who had played the game thoughts on it, It sounded like a big disappointment. So I didn't pick it up.

But seeing the game in the bargain bin for 10$...it has to be worth 10$?!..and you know what...it sure is a $10 game. The whole game feels more like a add-on or collection of add-ons put together to make up 1 whole game.

The main story is only 4 hrs long and you start off with all the same powers you had in the last game, same upgrade system, everything. They literally didn't add anything new to the Force Unleashed series. Except now he has 2 light sabers, which honestly doesn't make up for all the shortcomings everywhere else.

The battles become repetitive, same mini bosses over and over all the way to the very end. Playing the game on its harder difficulty does nothing buy increase the damage enemies do to you. So if you play defensively, you can avoid most everything. But take 1 or 2 hits and your done for. It doesn't make for a especially enjoyable game play session.

The other add on was the challenge rooms, much like god of war has. Don't get me wrong, these are enjoyable, but again..they feel shoved into the game to add filler to a lacking product. Almost like they were going to ship the game by itself and realized that the final product was enough and people would feel ripped off, so they added these challenge rooms that they were otherwise going to release later and charge people for them.

This game just feels lacking in every way a game can. It is a shadow of the what the first game was and although I only payed 10 bucks for the game, I still somehow feel disappointed. And if you were thinking that they saved some cool cut scenes for people who bought the game and played through it...think again. They showed anything that was cool and full of fan service online with teasers. There was nothing in the game that would have been a surprise because they spoiled it all online promoting the game. Just downright shameful.

The only enjoyable thing about the game were the boss battles, they were different enough that I didn't feel bored. Unlike the entirety of the game, I felt like I was playing the game just so I could get to the end and have it finished and see the ending. This game is a big let down and I only recommend it if you are a Starwars fan and you can find it cheap, ....really cheap.

Akimi Village - PSN

I think it says something when you play any demo for over an hr and after the demo ends, you want to keep going. That's how I felt when I played the demo for Akimi Village. I guess if I have to compare it to anything...I really don't know what to compare it too. I want to say farmville , but I never played farmville...but I guess this game is what I would assume how farmville plays. But I could totally bout to lunch on this one.

That's beside the point, the point being , its fun. I finished the whole game in 4 days for a total of 14 hrs. Considering I paid $5 bucks for the game and enjoyed myself immensely and didn't want the game to end. The value for the game is well worth it.

The basics of the game is to create a village and restore life to the Gloomy part of a dream state. Trust me, it makes more sense when you hear the story. But besides that...its a balance of creating workers, harvesting resources, making stockpiles, turning resources into usable materials, using those materials to build items/buildings that will enhance your village which removes the gloom.

Whether it be increasing your productivity, happiness, unlocking new land, new buildings. There is so much to do in this game, that in the 14 hrs that I played it, I did not once feel like I was repeating myself or felt like I was grinding in anyway. It was all very gratifying...unlike the the facebook games, where you do something and then sit and wait for 10 hrs.

Its more a balance of resources and man(little glooms) hrs and abilities. Its a different game than I usually play and I loved every min of it. The only downside was that it requires friends to assist in materials and items. So if you have friends, they can send you resources to help build things faster....without friends, it makes using your existing resources a little more tighter and smarter. Also its neat to see other people's towns and help them out.

Currently, there is no one on my friends list who owns the game, so its a lonely little Akimi Village I have :(

In the end, if you want to try something new and well worth your money, give the demo a try. If after you want to keep playing after trying the demo...than this game is for you.

Nutcracker Mario

I had one of these as a kid...its suppose to crack nuts...well min, I just broke the handle on the back. It didn't crack the nut.

Mouse Bros Free on Itunes

Hello sir Internets, gotta couple of old friends and co-workers trying to make their way in this big video game world we live in with a game of their own game called Mouse Bros from their company Game Radiator.

Mouse Bros is currently free on iphone, ipod, ipad and has 5 new festival themed levels in keeping with the holiday spirits.

Help out a couple of guys with their new game by going to the app store and downloading, rating and if possible, leave a review for them. I'm sure they appreciate that.

Good luck fella's in your endeavors! Click Here to try it out.

I Got This Joy,Joy, Joy, Feeling ....Down in My ...

That's the song that comes to mind when I see this piece of art work.

VGA's Thoughts

I tried to watch the VGA's....I honestly did. All I was interested in were the new trailers for the upcoming games. I could care less about their high school video game popularity categories mentality.

But even with the thought of seeing a good trailer, the filler of everything in-between was unbearable. In my opinion, the VGA's is everything that is wrong with the gaming community. I did enjoy the one speech that the host made about anonymity and playing on line doesn't give one the right to be a foul mouth racist bigot, at least they are acknowledging a horrible part of online gaming. A part that appears to be a common place and accepted when in actuality, it shouldn't be.

The songs, the hosts, the inane awards that mean as much " Who as the best hair" in grade 11 were down right horrible. It got to a point where I said, I'm not watching this regardless of the trailers..I'll just watch it tomorrow online. The VGA's are a joke and only appeal to the most common COD playing fanboy. Big booms and big titties, watch me kick and scream when I don't get my way.

Needless to say, I did not enjoy the VGA's in shape or form.

CowBoy Transformers Trailer

Not too sure about the selection of music used with the trailer...but I be lieing if I didn't get chills when Bruticus and Grimlock appeared. I love the first war for Cybertron and I'll jumping on board with this one aswell.

JRPG's and Their Names

I'm not a fan of anime or Japan related games such as Catherine and JRPG's. Final Fantasy has never appealed to me since they changed all the characters so I can't tell if they are female or male unless they draw in some boobs on the character.

But besides that fact, its just my personal preference, I know there is a very large fan base out that love this stuff. But I came across this today and I guess what I don' t understand is where do they come up the names for these games. To me its the equivalent to trying to type words really fast and hitting the wrong keys.

Anyway...the name of the game is .....

Ar Tonelico Qoga Knell of Ar Cie - ???What the hell does that mean?? That's not even words at this point. Its like when Christians become possessed by their God and start speaking in tongues.

Let me name the next game from Japan...."Whirl noses of shopping cupcakes at summer vroom moon." Now that's a name..I don't know what it means..but I think it falls in line with most names of JRPG.s?

Well, that's it, just wanted to pass on some randomness that I don't understand..nothing left to do, but go back to being ignorant.

The A-Team Does it Again!!!

The more I play BF3 I am encountering some damn good pilots and of course the ones who play the most have unlocked the best weapons and perks, so it makes that much harder to shoot them down. Hell, I had one guy spin around his jet, point his nose towards me on the ground, fire off a burst, kill me and then keep going.....WTF!!?? ..Its a jet your flying not some frikken Gundman suit.
Still...its a very cool video.

Back Log Woes

It has been quite some time that I have a back log as big as the one I currently have, and this is just disc based games, not counting the DLC games I have downloaded.

To start with, I have Infamous 2, given to my by cousin. I plan on playing it,its just not something I really want to start right now, especially since its a much bigger game that the last. This will be a problem with most of backlog as well...they are all bigger.

Then I got Batman, Arkham City, holy cow this game is going to eat up my time if its anything like the last one was. I love going through the game and finding all the riddler puzzles and doing all the challenges. Put that into a giant city and were looking at some serious game time here.

I got DeadSpace 2 sent to me in the mail. This one I wouldn't mind starting with, since its been the longest since I played the first one. I don't like that they added MP, but hey, I don't have to play that part of the game to enjoy it.

Then I got NHL 12, which I feel awful about not finishing my career mode in NHL 10. To start up 12 now without finishing 10 just seems wrong. But I haven't touched 10 in over a year, so whats the point.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean. Love the Lego games, but I just finished Lego Harry Potter a few months ago, I have to give it some time before I start another one.

Sims 3, this seems like a game that's just going to eat up my spare time, much like Minecraft. Build my imaginary home, eat , sleep, talk with friends. hell Its hard enough to find real time to do this stuff, let alone finding game time to live a fake life.

Finally, the game that I am currently playing, BF3 and what keeps me going back are all the unlocks...just one more level to unlock the next perk, the next gun, the next vehicle upgrade, etc. Its very additive, but I guess I have to balance my online time with my offline time.

But I just went through the force unleashed 2 a week ago and I played through it just because my backlog was getting too big and I had to get rid of one of them. And I felt like I was rushed through the game. I played it just for the sake of playing it....where I enjoying going back into levels and finding items and exploring on harder settings. It all felt very rushed and it lessened my game experience because of it. So this is backlog....its all very overwhelming, but like getting into a cold lake, the best way to do is just jump in and get started.

These guys are pretty damn funny.

Turtle Power

Pixel art, love it. For some reason, all I can hear when I look at these images is the sound that their weapons would make in the first NES game.

This Is How I Feel Today

Sony's PS Vita Memory Cards - Too Pricey

I'm not much of a hand held gamer, I honestly doubt I will ever even buy the PS Vita. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in the tech and its games. When it comes to us, the gamers and consumers, prices way heavily on my decision. I'm not your average or typical gamer that buys everything when its first launched or go along with all the hype. I will gladly sit back and wait for the dust to settle before moving in.

One sore spot for me when it comes to the Vita are the memory cards. I don't mind that they have them, but what the hell Sony? You are charging a ridiculous amount for something that is necessary for your system to work. If I bought a Vita tomorrow, I would need the card to access online and start playing.

What's insane is what Sony is charging people for this necessity. So even though the price of the Vita is more than reasonable, when you take into consideration the additional price you need to pay for memory, then it becomes obvious that you are paying more then what they originally said.

The prices go as is
4G SD card - $30 plus tax
8G SD card - $45 plus tax
16G SD card - $70 plus tax
32G SD card - $120 plus tax

Where as I can go and get another brand name 32G SD card from anywhere $28-$33. But Sony won't let us use other SD cards, we are forced to use theirs. Hell, I can buy a 500G external hard drive for $80.

So if you look at it this way, if you get the vita at $250 you can expect to be paying anywhere to $280 to $370. If you are a avid gamer, we all know that 4G's are not going to be enough for your gaming needs.

I did read that Sony is taking a loss with every Vita sold so they have to make their money somewhere. It just seems underhanded that they list a system as low as they did, when really its much higher.

Interested to see how all this plays out.

New Mario Selection Video

Absolutely amazing, Give me this game now....I don't care if its one level. Hell , let me run around a square block and I'd be happy.
