ICO and Shadow of the Colossus - PS3

First we had the God of War collection re-did for the HD on the PS3 and now we are getting these two games?! WOW!!!

I didn't pick up the God of War Collection mainly because I own them both on the PS2 and I played the hell outta them, so I have no inclination to play them again.

While I do not own ICO or Shadow of the Colossus, I only got a loan of them from a friend. Its been a long time since I last played them, so this is one that I will be getting for the PS3.

PS3 Firmware UpDate - v3.40

I normally don't be too bothered about updates, if anything I am hesitate to get them. They have been known to brick and just mess up a already working systems. But this update does have some neat features.

PlayStation Plus: PlayStation Network users will be able to purchase membership to PlayStation Plus; a new subscription service on the PlayStation Network that provides you with new options to expand and enhance your gaming experience and enable you to gain an exclusive set of features and content. Friendly reminder, all of you PlayStation Network users will continue to have free access to PlayStation Network’s unmatched and expanding suite of new and exclusive features while PlayStation Plus subscribers will gain access to an exclusive and expanding set of gaming features, content and functionality.

Photo Gallery: A new network based photo sharing feature is now available on the Photo Gallery. The enhancement allows you to upload, browse and comment on photos on Facebook and Picasa Web Album. You can also opt to share your photos between your PlayStation Network friends as well as print photos from Photo Gallery.

Video Editor & Uploader: Video Editor and Uploader is a new function found on the XrossMediaBar (XMB), which enables you to edit, save and upload video files stored on the PS3 system to sites such as Facebook or YouTube.

Five Star Rating Support: Users can rate the PlayStation Store content they have purchased with one to five star ratings.

Power Save Settings: The default setting for PS3 System Auto-Off will be set at 2 hours, providing you with additional power save options and further improving power save features on the PS3 system.

Well, I guess its not that spectacular. Its something!

Game Space Poster

Some guy painted a starwars inspired poster about all the space games. Its pretty cool.

Nintendo Character Evolutions

I thought these were interesting. :)

King's Quest IX : the Silver Lining - PC

Extraordinary news!! I'm very excited about this!

The Silver Lining, the unofficial sequel of Sierra's classic series King's Quest has been green-lighted by Activision and will see the light of day!

This project has had a very tumultuous run and that for 8 years!

It is all fan-made and was meant as a fitting close to the King's Quest series after the last effort, KQ VIII, which is debatable weather it was even canon. It featured a radical departure from the series. You don't play as any member of Daventry's royal family (who only make cameos) and it's a 3D action oriented as opposed to the proper story-based adventuring. I personally was very disappointed by that game. I grew up with KQ and it holds a very dear place into my heart. Even with it's faults and shortcomings, going back to it a few years later.

But this game was to bring it back to its classic roots.

Unfortunately, Vivendi that bought Sierra was none too cooperative with the idea. And even though a non-commercial permission was agreed on, it was nullified by Activision later purchasing Vivendi and putting a halt to the entire project.

It seemed it was doomed, but behold!!! The gods of gaming have been clement and Activision has agreed to release the game! So starting July 10th, we will be able to PLAY IT!! And since this is a fan-made game, it will be for free!! It's episode-based and the first one should be up!

This game has had an amazing journey and to me, it looks fantastic considering that the people who worked on it did it for no money, on a voluntary basis. I even did a couple of character designs for it way back a few years ago. No idea if they'll make it into the game, but I am excited to play it.

About a year ago, I tried a demo for it and I can say that it was impressive. I certainly am looking forward to it's release and will be playing it when I get the chance! The demo has been taken down since then.

Xbox Slim Comparison

The New Face of Pacroid

So here is something new...what is it? I'm not entirely sure. But it is a start of something new. The menu I made in at least in under 2 min and Ian helped with the drop shadow and Jay(beatfreaker) made it all work(somehow).

Wanted to change the look of Pacroid for awhile now, so this is the beginning of that process. It will probable change some has time goes on. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to give them.

I will not accept unicorns, squirrels, and pork chops. Anything else is game. No wait, I change my mind, pork chops are good.

Studio's Ghibli's PS3 Game

 What?

A game that isn't dark, greyish-brown and dreary and that involves square-jawed  fridge-shaped marines shooting the crap out of aliens/russians/zombies ?

Unbelievable.

Anyway, sarcastic comments aside, I don't know what this game is about, but it looks GORGEOUS!

Look at the trailer!

BattleField Bad Company 2 Onslaught Mode - DLC

Last night I purchased onslaught mode for BFBC2. It was $9.99 which gives you 4 reworked maps with the sole purpose being to have 4 players (co-op)to play against a ONSLAUGHT of AI controlled characters by capturing and holding flags.

There are also new trophies added and a new vehicle added, the Gun Ship. But you can't control it, on one of the maps it sails in and blows the crap outta your team(take it out fast). You then have 4 modes of play for each level. Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hardcore.

Each time you finish a map you are givin a time for how long it took your team to finish it, so it turns into beat your best time.

But finishing a map depends on 2 things. Communication and making sure you have diversity on your team. If all your guys are assault or all medics. You can pretty much guarantee that your team is going to have problems.

What it all boils down too is a kick ass good time. When you have a team that are all communicating and working together, holy cow is it ever one of the better co-op experiences one can play online.

Normal mode is fun, but you need at least 3 people, Hardcore is frikken HARDCORE. You lose all your HUD elements making it much more realistic. So you don't have a map, or bullet count or floating cross hairs, just your iron sites. And NO indicators to show where your teammates are when they die and you can't spot enemies for you team mates. The AI is relentless in Hardcore, but boy does it make for a intense play.

My only complaint was dropped games. Seeing has this just came out, it looks like they have some bugs to fix. Myself, Jay and others we talked too online while playing have all had dropped games if you are the host. Its like it can't keep its connection with the host of the map and just kicks everyone.

I'm sure this is something that will be addressed in the coming weeks, this is still a great addition to already fantastic game and worth every penny. IF you are a online gamer, great great GREAT!!

Scott Pilgrim V.S. the World avatar

While not specificly "A" video games, I like how this movie looks.
It's based off a series of graphic novels that I have never read, but I like the art.

Anyway, the movie looks nifty, the website is fun! And the avatar creator too.

To Trophy Hunt or Not To Trophy Hunt

I have never in my whole gaming life have had such a back log of games to play. Currently I have 4 games sitting on my shelf that I have to start. That's not counting all the other great games that came out this year, Mass Effect 2, God of War, Heavy Rain, etc.

The main reason is I like to max out everything you can do in a game and add trophies with that and it makes all that much more enjoyable.

BUT..I want to play other games too. I can only equate it to an addiction. It hurks me to finish a game and not try and do all the side stuff. I mean I am currently trying to max out 3D Dot Game Heroes but I can see this game taking at least 2-3 more weeks to really finish it all.

Last night I popped in SUPER street fighter 4 for a bit and all I could do was think, "You need to finish that other game before you can start a new one".

I still go back and play older games I have finished such has Battlefield 2, a bunch PSN DLC. But to start a new game....ummm.

I NEED TO START A NEW GAME PLAY MANTRA. Play the game, finish the game and move on to the next one (BUT in the mean time, go back through your games to play a little here and there to get those extra bits)

I have to do that, I can't stay on one game forever. So tonight..well tonight I play battlefield onslaught new mode. But after that, I am starting infamous. I do enjoy trophy hunting, but trophy hunting for specific trophies can take awhile, usually involving playing a game 2-3 times.

Well shall see how this goes.

Transformers: War for Cybertron - Where's my Review

So this game was released today( not that I am buying it new) and there isn't a single review for it on any of the major sites. What gives?? Did Activision pay off all the game sites so they wouldn't release a review early or on release day so they could hook in the Transformer Fans?? Is the game that broken upon release with some fundamental flaw that makes the game horrible??

Doesn't makes sense, with all the other titles the reviews came out that day or in some cases a day or two in advance.

The previews said that the game looks promising, but we've all heard that before. So what gives? Perhaps all the game sites are all too busy with E3 wrap up that no one had time to get around to playing Transformers.

Well I'm still not getting this brand new and will be waiting for a second hand copy. Take that Activision.

Xbox 360 or PS3

I wrote a article on this way back in the blog and looking back on it now. I don't entirely agree with myself. Mostly I really want to stay away from fanboyism, its the games that matter for a true gamer. I have done a complete flip flop.
Recently a co-worker is going to purchase his first next gen console, he wants to know if he should get a 360 or PS3. Obviously you get different answers depending on which fan boy you ask, each painting the other system in a negative light.

So here are my thoughts on helping to move this decision along.

Games
Both systems have wide selection of games that they both share. But its the exclusives that set them apart. All of the exclusives are great games and you be doing yourself a disservice by not playing them all.

Xbox 360 - Left 4 Dead, Halo, Gears of War, Fable, Dead Rising, Portal

PS3 - God of War, Little Big Planet, Killzone, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank

Now these are just a few and some of them are in talks to cross over to be on both systems, but for now they are only on the one.

Graphics
Some games look better on the other system depending on the game. It usually happens when a game is built for one system and then ported over to the other. But these differences in graphics are so minor that unless you are a HARDCORE graphics gamer, then this really shouldn't affect your decision.

Some of the biggest offenders of this is Bayonetta. So I use Bayonetta has a template for graphics comparison. Here are both of them next to each other, is the difference really that bad that it would make someone(who is not a fanboy or graphic whore) say,"Wow, just look at the difference here, its criminal. I would not be able to play that game on that other system" So if Bayonetta is one of the more drastic comparison of quality of graphics, we really don't have much to complain about.

If you want hard numbers, the PS3 has more potential to put out better graphics but when it comes down to cross console games, there's not much of a difference.

Price
Hunt around, sure they have both have their official listings. But if you really want to find a good deal, then wait for a bundle pack or look for one on Amazon or Ebay. You can find a good price for any system if you are willing to do the work.

But most people are there for convenience. I want my system now, I don't want to hunt around.

So for now you can get a Xbox 360 for $199 and a PS3 for $299. They both have different bundles with a increased storage from 120 Gig to 250 Gig and some come with a selection of games and extra controller and what not.

If you want to increase your storage, I know its pretty easy to do with the PS3 and the 360 is little more involved, but doable. I don't know if the new Xbox slim makes it easier for people to swap hardrives.

Online
They both have a store where you can buy a wide selection of games. From the classic arcades to old retro games. Again the selection varies with the system, they both have their gems and they both have their glowing overpriced turds.

They also offer movies,TV and a bunch of other stuff that I don't really use. I use it for games, sorry. I can't comment on the other services, since I don't use them.

Sony has Home, which is just horrible. I don't get the premise of Home, I guess if you like 2ndLife then I guess you would like Home. That's what I really want, to stand in line in a virtual world to play a virtual game.(shakes head)

I don't know what xbox 360 has that would be the equivalent of an embarrassment of HOME, nothing I don't think.

360 has cross game/party chat. So one guy could be playing L4D and another COD4 and they both can talk to each other, its a pretty cool feature if you want to chat it up with a buddy while you play. Makes it easier to meet up online and set up a common game aswell.

PS3 currently has the type texted messages, which is a pain in the ass. But once you get into the same game online than its all good, chat away. This November they have said that they will be releasing cross game chat for the PS3 has well and for free. How well this system will work is a different story all together.

The Biggest difference here with the two systems is PS3 is free and 360 is a monthly/year subscription. This is possible one of the biggest arguments you can have with a Xbox owner. All are shouting the same thing. Xbox online is so much better.

Well I can't say one way or the other. I did enjoy the times that I was cross gaming chatting on the Xbox but I never played a online match with other players on the 360.
What I can talk about is my experience with playing with up to 60 players online with the PS3. It works well. I get online and I chat and I play.

Sony will be offering a paid subscription much like Gold members get from the Xbox. I think this would only interest hardcore fans and not the average gamer. But it remains to be seen.

Controllers
Preference is what it boils down too ultimately.
Xbox 360 is defiantly a more comfortable controller for playing First Person Shooters and the PS3 controller is much more atoned for Fighting games.
There was a booth at this E3 that is promoting 360 controllers for the PS3 and PS3 controllers for the 360. So now you can have the best of both worlds.

MISC
Then both have a multitude of options for viewing/streaming movies, music. The PS3 doubles has a Blue Ray but has lost its backward compatibility with the PS2 (big loss in my book) Xbox is more PC friendly which makes sense(They are both owned by Microsoft) and is backwards compatible with some of its Xbox 1st gen games.

Decision.
What is your favorite game? If it is Mario, then buy a Wii, if it Halo then get a Xbox, If God of War does it for you, then get a PS3. It really depends on what you want to use it for. But in the end I got my first system because it was what I was used too and it was my personal preference.
Today they are pretty much have their pros and cons and even out rather well.

Do yourself and favor and buy both.

So Which is it Sony?!!

Pricing is a important part of driving new hardware. It could kill it in its tracks if its too high, much like the price point of the PSP when it first was announced. You could hear crickets when they announced the price of the first PSP.

But with all the announcements this E3, I don't have a frikken clue what its going to cost. At first it was said $49.99 then I heard $79.99, then $89.99 then$100.00 then it went up to $130.00 and now $180.00, where are these prices coming from. What am I buying?!

WTF!!! Well what it is, IS. The move comes in Pieces, you have packages with a game and the Eye Cam and second part of the controller. But not all games require that you have all peices. So $49.99 is what you pay for the initial controller but then you need the Eye and then a game. So the cost just keeps going up and up.

But to experience all of what MOVE has to offer, the cost is going to get pretty high. Sure you don't NEED to have ALL of the parts. But are you really experiencing what MOVE has to offer if you just play with PART of it?

It all seems too much for me. I think I will be staying away from Move. Good luck Sony trying to get some of Nintendo's Market.

World of Tanks....I think

This trailer is pretty good, you have to watch it to the end to get it. It makes you go, WTF is this?! Ohhhhhhhhhh, that's funny.

A Guy with Too Much Time on His Hands

Wow!! So this is what people with talent do when they don't have a job, God Bless em:) So since I can draw, then I should drawing pictures on random people faces has they walk by on the sidewalk and record myself doing it. I bet it be entertaining! In all seriousness, these are fantastic!!

E3 LowLIfes: yes I said that right

These are the things that happen that just want to make you look away in utter embarrassment. Like getting caught with your pants down in front of the womens gymnastics rooms......It was all for research, sheessh!

StarCraft 2 Teaser

I really enjoyed the first starcraft, I always played defensive, and it seemed the computer had unlimited money to build units and I would always hit a wall and die again and again and again, so I ended up using the more money cheat. I never played online with this game and the online experience really doesn't bother me. I will get it for the single player campaign or probable just wait until all 3 campaigns are released has a single bundle.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Characters - My Dream Roster

Some characters that I would like to see in the new MvsC3 game. Get rid of some of the staples and replace them with new ones, so here are some of my picks. Wonder if any of them will make it?!

My first pick is a character from the Dark Stalkers series. Jon Talbain was always my favorite character in that roster and I would like to see him make his debut.
My 2nd favorite X-men was Nightcrawler. Fast and Agile, teleport this stick up your butt and call it a day.
Savage and untamed and brutal are words I would use to describe one of the more underrated Spiderman villains, The Lizard. It be great to use unbridled instinct to rip opponents apart.
Sure he made a cameo in the first Marvel Vs Capcom. But I think it about time they gave Thor his own slot to kick ass. Don't all Gods enjoy inflicting pain and suffering?!

They have Mega-man and servbot and Tronbonne. So its about time they brought out the big guns. He make a good boss even, each time you beat him his final form gets more elaborate than the last.
Time to bring in a new female lead, BlackCat. Hell I don't even know what her power is or if she even has one. Perhaps its the power to give comic geeks something to look at while they rub one out. Don't tell me you haven't done it...I know...oh yes....I know.

The plane from 1943, yeah I don't care if its not possible. Make it work damnit, make it work. I'll just be over here waiting with the encouragement stick while you get right on that.

At last and most certainly the least(yes I said that right) Beast. Ferocity and strength combine with agility and speed. Not the Kelsey Grammer Beast either, you give me that I will shit at your face.......AT!!!
And that's my list, will any of them make it. I'm guessing not, but who knows I could get my 1943 plane any minute now. I only had to use my encouragement stick twice so far.

TorchLight -PC

I didn't want to write anything about this game till I had finished it completely. But with recent events occurring in the game, I don't see that happening in the near future. But I think that 50 plus hrs should be enough to account for a good representation of what the game is about.

If you are a fan of Diablo and need a new Diablo fix then this is the game for you. The visuals are bright and very stylized and I love it. Its your standard dungeon hunt game with a story tacked on.

You get to choose between 3 characters. A barbarian, a magician and a chick. Each get a pet which can hold more items and fight with you. The girl has guns, clearly the winner. Swords, knives I'm the one with the gun!! You go through countless levels of dungeons doing quest for the towns folks that repeat again and again. But there is enough variety in your character build that it doesn't get stale.

You can upgrade 3 different skill trees and each class share some similarities in each skill tree. So that's kinda of disappointing but by no means a game killer. Combine that with getting new armor and weapons and upgrading them with gems and magic all adds to keeping each level fresh and new.
What really kept me going was that I knew I was getting towards the end and I would soon see the end of the game ....that was until this happened.

When you die in a level it gives you 3 options. Respawn where you died and lose XXXX experience and XXXX money OR respawn at the beginning of the dungeon and lose XXXX money or respawn in town and lose no money or experience.

So from this point on I have always respawned at the beginning of the level because I usually die more than half way into the level. But this one time I died right at the beginning of the level. I entered and got swarmed by a bunch of monsters and died. So I thought it be silly to respawn at the beginning of the dungeon because I am already here. I will just respawn in town and come back through the portal.
(A portal is created every time you go back and forth to town from a dungeon, so its easy to jump back and forth)

What happened is when you choose to go back to town, it closes the portal. IT CLOSES THE FRIKKEN PORTAL!!!!! What does that mean??

I was on level 33 out of 50. In order for me to get back to level 33 I have to start back on level 1 and work my way up to level 33 again. I have to do IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!! All the monsters have returned and they raise in level equal to your stats. So its not like I can breeze through the level because all the monsters are weaker.

So I think, I won't fight, I will just run through each level. This didn't work, you get to points where there are choke paths and there 40-50 monsters on the screen all at the same time surrounding you. Boom, dead... start over ON GOD DAMN LEVEL 1!!!!

This has to be the BIGGEST FLAW in any game!! There should be WARNING!!!! if you choose to go back to town such has,"IF CHOOSE TO GO BACK TO TOWN YOU WILL HAVE TO START FROM DUNGEON 1 WHEN YOU RETURN" . No one in the god given mind would choose to start over in town, why the hell would you do that?!! It has to be the stupidest thing ever.

I was so broken when this happened, I tried to go back and run through the levels, I got to dungeon 2 and said,"FUCK IT...this sucks ballz"

That one thing ruined my overall experience with this game. Besides this one glaring black spot the game is really fun. I bought it for $19.99 on steam but it since has went down to $4.99 which is a steal and well worth every penny regardless of what price you pay for it.

If you want to play this ,then by all means go for it. But please remember NOT TO GO BACK TO TOWN when you die. Lose the money and go back to the start of the dungeon. Its the difference of losing 20-30 min of play and 15-25 hrs of play. My God that doesn't make any sense to me what so ever why they would do that, none at all!

Twisted Metal - PS3

Twisted metal was one of the first titles to be released for the PS2. Its been a long while since we had a NEW revamped looking twisted metal game. I can't wait!

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Oh my...That can't be Good

So here is a video of the new Xbox eating a disc after some guys moves the machine while a disc is spinning in it. This is pretty funny and shitty to have happen to a showcase video. Regardless of what system it is happening too, its still funny and crappy all at the same time.

I guess the warning sticker on front wasn't big enough for him to notice. Thanks to Beatfreaker for the link.

DeathTrack Resurrection - PSN

I saw this game on the PSN and it reminded me of a old game I use to play at a friends house which was also called Death Track. We had a great time with it, one of those games that that once you hear the music it really takes you back. I'm not a racing fan in games, but give me some guns that I can attach to my car and I'm good to good. So games like Full Auto and Twisted Metal are some of the few car games that I actually enjoy.

So I saw this and I had to go and see if it was indeed anyway based of the original from 1989. I was pleasantly surprised that it IS!!! This is great, I looked for the reviews and it got a 6.7 from IGN and average from Gamespot and basically a average game overall from most sites.

I know that it doesn't compare to all the great racing games out there today, but for a fan(ME) of the original, which game me and my friends hrs of fun. The nostalgia alone is enough of a sell for me. That and it's not a full price game at $14.99, which for me to get this piece of history seems like a steal. So I can say without a doubt that I will be picking up this game and I look forward to reviewing it and seeing if in anyway does it stands up to the 1989 experience.

Here is the original Game, ahaha, the graphics are glorious, god I loved this game.

Star Wars: The Old Republic-Hope of Alderaan

These cut scenes are amazing. Again, will this be my first MMO?

Kinect(Natal) Star Wars

So they show a Starwars game at E3 for the 360 being played with the newly named Kinect. But they just showed the game play which looks OK, reminds me of some Wii game waving your lightsaber randomly around. So I went looking for videos of it actually being controlled by the person. I can't see myself doing that, it just looks silly.

The first video is of game play the other is a brief clip of some guy playing it.

3D NES Characters

I know this looks just like a flat image and it is, but i don't know how to upload a animated gif to be displayed. I"m not tec savvy, if I was I probable have my own web design and not used a preset display. But go to the link to see these fantastic sprites animated in 3D. Click here to see Bill, Zelda, Mario and some pokemon character.

Marvel Vs Capcom Goodness

I got nothing but goodness to say, goodness all over the floor.

More Horrible Mortal Kombat Nonsense

So some MK "FANS" were upset with the MK Rebirth trailer. Saying it doesn't resemble the old MK stuff. We only had one ok movie and everything else was crap. The TV, Cartoon, another movie oh good lord the second movie. So here are some fantastic..I mean....I don't know. I sure all those complaining love this, I don't know. Perhaps I'm mental.

Don't watch the next one unless you want some sort of brain seizure!

Watch at 0:29 when Sonya Lands on a Rock and the rock bounces. I wish I grew up around bouncy rocks.

Just skip too 0:40 and watch an amazing walk cycle. I don't even know what bones and muscles they are using

But not all are bad. There are some pretty good MK scenes, granted most of them are rendered from video games, but they are out there.

The Ultimate Mortal Kombat Announcer

In my next Mortal Kombat game I want that announcer to be in it. I don't care if shes a playable character or in the BG or if she comes out between matches to tell you what new merchandise is available to buy from the ingame store. Like a little interlude between killing, ahh what you say? Am I right or am I right......yeahhhh....I"m right.

Mortal Kombat -New Game

To captalize on the live action movie trailer or maybe not, a new trailer showing Mortal Kombat at its finest, going back to basics, with gore, blood and linear game play. I really like the look of this. But I still also like the new look from the movie trailer. I mean how you translate these costumes to the big screen without the whole thing looking kinda goofy?

Here is what we all grew up with, which is cool, still like the new rebirth.

Battlestar Galactica Online Trailer

I gotta say that I am a big fan of flying shooters. I loved the X-wing/Tie fighter, WWII Fighter planes etc. If has to be pretty bad for me not to like it. This is a MMO I guess, with no real game footage. But boy do I like the space shooting, bang bang, boom pfhttututututututut(that was was my machine gun sound)

Spiderman 2099 World

So this is the next Spiderman world in shattered dimension. That's pretty cool, I actually have the foil covered #1 of Spiderman 2099. I don't think its worth that much. But I really like the new world. I look forward to the next.

Some other Spiderman story lines that they could do? Iron Spiderman, Scarlett Spider, World X Spiderman, mutated Spiderman. You know what, I be happy with anything except black/symbiotic suit Spiderman. We've seen that one done to death, please something else, thank you very much.

New TellTale games to come!

TellTale is a game studio that I really like.
They took old properties (mostly from LucasArts) and gave them new life in shorter episodic forms.

The animations aren't the best, the graphics either. But they are giving a small CPR burst to the point-and-click adventure genre that's been having hard times for decades. And if that's a way to keep costs low and keep cranking out games, all the better for it!

And now it seems they have struck a deal with Universal to make .... Jurassic Park and Back to the Future games!!! I have no idea if they're adventure or action, but it sounds like cool stuff will be coming. Yay for nostalgia!!

Here's the original article from their blog.

Mortal Kombat Rebirth

What is this, I don't know. Is it a trailer, a fan made project or a little taste of something bigger. What ever it is, I LOVE it. Could this be the first real decent movie adapted from a game. Our first game movie that, although changes the main story of Mortal Kombat but still remains loyal to the source material. This is Brilliant, I can't say enough good things about this. Its Great!!

Sad thing is, people are complaining on other sites about how none of the characters look like the Mortal Kombat characters. THIS IS GOOD, we've had the same variations on the same outfits since the beginning in 1992. This is a great fresh new start. I don't care if this can't translate into a game, I don't want it to. I like it for what it is.

Anime in Games

I know Anime has a Huge following and I have yet to work in any place that didn't have at least one guy who didn't have a hard-on for a girl who's eyes were half the side of her head. Just look at the size of her mouth, what you gonna do with that?! But I digress.

I don't understand the appeal of Anime or Anime in games.A game could be the best game out there and all you got to do is make all the characters look anime and I'm done. Thank you , but no.I won't ridicule someone who likes the stuff, I mean we all like different things. But that won't stop me from saying why I think its the most fucked up thing out there. Is is a sexual thing? Is it a cute baby syndrome with the big eyes thing? Whats the appeal of this..this..man..woman..boy. Really unless you are familiar with the characters in these games, no one could look at most of the characters and tell me that if its a boy, woman, girl, man, etc.

It really is one of those things where you see a person hanging from hooks that are stuck in his skin and you stare with a wide open mouth and go,"What's happening?!!.....is this entertainment or something else..please help me"
Just a random thought, wait..nope..stay outta my games...go away with you, go on. Don't make me throw this man-baby, woman...thing at you.

No Envy Here

I listen to quite a few gaming podcast while I work and check gaming websites and magazines like any other gamer nerd out there. What I have came to the conclusion to is this. I don't envy these guys at all.

Sure they play all the latest games week after week and try them out online or with their buddies. I know its their job to quickly review a game and move on to the next one.

I appreciate what they do, I look toward reviews to help in deciding if a game is worth buying or no, but by no means would I ever want to be a professional game reviewer.

I play a game and finish it like them but then go through and complete it to its 100% or try too. If they had to play games the way I play them the review wouldn't come out till weeks after release.

So in the end, I'm happy with playing at my leisure covered in butter and cream.
