I thought the water expansion pack was coming out a day later (and I was kind of expecting it to come out even later on the canadian PSN). But no, a quick check revealed that indeed, water was out there!
I was momentarily confused because there`s two downloadable new levels things to choose from: Pirates of the Caribbean costumes and a level kit. I wasn`t sure which one I should take! I never downloaded any kit pack, but I expected (HOPED!) that that was where the water lay. And it does!
A bit of searching was needed to get to the levels. You got to go into your content and choose the kit. There will be a level to play and unlock the following ones.
The water looks great and add a new fun gameplay element to the game.
LBP never dissapoints and I have to say that I loved the creative ways that people would find to simulate water. I hope this doesn`t stop. But the water is fuuuuuuuun!
I did a couple of levels and went through the tutorials. As fun as community levels are, it`s good to play a professional designed level.
But I`m looking forward to seeing what people out there come out with!
Go play in water!!!
And I want to take this occasion to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season!! Be safe, be merry. And we`ll all see you in the New Year!
This will probable be my last post for this year. I leave tomorrow to go home for the holidays and I won't have access to a computer there. I live pretty far north and we are lucky that we got Internet only a few years ago. See this pretty little map, the red dot is where my home town is. Snow banks that cover peoples home.
So before I go, I am going to list my Games of Year awards. So these are only based off of games that I have played. So by no means is it a list of what should have been or what actually is. Its what I had the most fun with over the past year.
Best FPS -First Person Shooter: Killzone 2 - I had alot of fun with this game and the only reason I stopped playing is because I had other games that I wanted to get through, otherwise I still be playing it.
Best RPG-Role Playing Game: TorchLight - I haven't played many RPG's this year and recently started and still am playing TorchLight. Its a fantastic mini version of Diablo.
Best DS game: Scribblenauts - This game lends itself perfectly to playing a little here and there and while I take a poop. I don't have to sit down and play for 1 or more hrs to enjoy this game. That's the main reason why I like this one. I don't like long play sessions on handhelds.
Best Action Game: Batman-Arkham Asylum - There is no better action game that came out this year than this. Its a fantastic game and sets the bar really high for other superhero games.
Best PSN Game: Pain - I know it wasn't released this year, but they keep releasing DLC for it and I keep enjoying it. Its a game I play every now and then and I enjoy every single time. Its a fun mindless romp!
BIGGEST LET DOWN OF THE YEAR: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - It doesn't stand no where near the first game. If you are going to play these games, stick with the first game, its superior in ever way except graphics(but they are very very similar)Even thinking about this game makes me want to strangle somebody in Activision or Vicarious Visions.
GAME OF THE YEAR: Batman-Arkham Asylum- I played this game to 100% and I loved every min of it. I played through the game twice and wasn't bored on my second play through. I did all the trophies and wasn't frustrated or bored with any of them. This game kept me entertained from the min I started it. IT has free DLC that adds excellent game play to the over all experience. I really enjoyed everything about this game.
There you have it, by no means is it a critics list or popular majority. Its "MY" list.
If I do manage to get my hands on a computer over the holidays, maybe I will post a bonus post. Until then, I'll postie again in 2010.
So Water is coming to LBP and boy is it filled to the brim with goodies. Its great to see developers putting in this great content for this kinda price ($5.99). I can honestly say that I WILL be getting this. LBP is a great franchise. They seem to be going with a Pirates of the Caribbean Theme which is fine by me.
-New Gameplay features for Create: Water – Global Water Object, Scuba Gear, Bubble Machine, Water Switch
-Brand new Pirates of the Caribbean themed Levels
- New costume: The Cannibal: Leg Bands, Teeth, Nose Decoration, Hair, Loincloth, Skin
I had been waiting anxiously (obsessively??) for this game. I loved the first one and had been devouring any piece of media that trickled out since the fist trailer I saw, about a year ago. I remember it was December because I was staying at my parent's place.
It was well worth the wait. It did NOT dissapoint !
One of the things that impressed me about the first one was the character models. The sequel pushes it even further. Yes, the motion capture is sometimes zombie-ish and the eyes are freaky (especially Cloe) and sometimes the facial animations are a little stiff, but compared to what you see in video games ususally .... WOW.
The storyline is exactly what you'd expect. Over-the-top impossible action. Drake would be dead so many times if it were real life. The story keeps you engaged and doesn't let go. I had to FORCE myself to stop playing when it got to the wee hours of the morning.
It's not re-inventing storytelling. It's just a fun roller-coaster ride that even though it feels familiar it is still thrilling to play through.
The backgrounds are gorgeous and much more varied this time around. A slew of different locales are explored, each with their own feel and atmosphere. The amount of detail in all the levels is staggering.
Some moving levels (train level, truck chase) were just so intense and awesome, it made my socks blow off.
Now, I'm not terribly good at shooting games. So I always play these at the easy settings, because I want to be able to get through the game. This one lasts a good amount of time, longer then the original one. I would say about 12 hours and it is a very satisfying length.
There were only two things that bugged me and it's nitpicks.
First: the snow level. It looks awesome, don't get me wrong. But it bugs me (in movies too) when snow isn't cold. SNOW IS EFFING COLD! Yes, Nathan gets a warm coat, but he grabs icy ledges and goes through everything without any mittens! His fingers would have fallen off in the first 5 minutes if it had been real. He wears gloves in one of the levels where there is no snow. Why couldn't he here?
Second : I wish there had been a "classic" Nathan skin. There are tons of unlockable skins, even some from the first game that weren't even characters! (Skeleton Sir Francis Drake?!!) and they can't even do that? Maybe in DLC. One can hope.
I won't be talking about the online portion of the game. Even though it seems hefty and well done, I have no interest in online play. So, I'll leave it to other reviewers to do that.
So, all in all I think it deserves it's title of video game of the year.
On the one hand, I appreciate that it's a big budget game, with oodles of money shelved in by Sony. And it really raises the bar for future video games. But on the other hand, few studios have the resources that this game got and I'm afraid we're going to see little guys being hit hard by the higher standards.
We'll see what the future holds. I know I'm waiting for Uncharted 3 with great anticipation.
Umm, this urks me!! I know the show is made for overactive testosterone 15-25 year old males!
So I guess if I was excited by explosions and had a hard-on 24-7, then maybe I would understand this but I just had too many things that were wrong with this show. For the most part, real gamers tend to agree. Don't ask the mainstream, you know the ones, the ones that curse you up and down in online games but at the same time you are wondering what a 13 yr old is doing playing a game that is rated "M" for mature anyway!?
1) Letting the Internet people pick game of the year.Really??! You want to do this?? I know its cool and all to let the gaming community to be involved, but I think Angry Joe said it best when he describe it to the Oscars. "If the Oscars were being chosen by the online community then Twilight would be movie of the year." If you want the gaming community to participate, then let them choose the candidates and have a panel of judges pick from that list.
2) I didn't know half of the celebrities, I say half. I didn't know 95% of the celebrities on the show. Who is this band?, who is this sexy woman?, who is this black guy? I can see that you sir are a gamer, I can tell you are because you said, "cool, and gaming has come a long way" and "end message, next line is narrator" oops, I guess the teleprompter how to manual wasn't sent out in time.
3) Its a big popularity contest, AND WE ALL KNOW ITS COOL TO BE POPULAR!! So its like high school all over again??? Do you wanna know where the most popular kid in my school is now. Hes bald and overweight and sits in a office and smokes cigarettes all day while answering phones on how to best save money on their phone bill. (He's soooo dreeeeeaaammy!!)
If you are a true gamer, this show by no means is meant to be taken seriously but has a form of entertainment. If you look at it with that mentality then its all ok(in some form or another) Unfortunately, most people take it has law and I can't wait to see prints of games with VGA awards written on them, game of the year, best voice actor, best performance by a cat, best fart joke, best way to shoot someone in the face!
Sadness has prevailed or I am just getting old......."Damn you kids, get off my LAWN!!!"
If you grown up with video games in your childhood, then more than likely, you've owned one of these crappy handhelds. Usually one thing to do, one level or just one straight runway. Regardless some were pretty pricey up to 30$ -40$. I had a few of these and I must admit, I enjoyed them at the time. The best one was a fishing rod that I had to cast, that was pretty cool. I also had one that you had to wind up to make it go. I really liked that one too but I couldn't find any pictures of it.
Here are some of the classic and some unknown versions of hand held systems.
Yup, got my 10th platinum with this little title. Overall its not one of the hardest games I've ever played, BUT, it does have one of the hardest Boss battle I've ever played on any game, EVER!! That being the boss battle on level 2, the Junk Planet. The crazy little Jedi with 4 robot legs. (God, I hate him.)
Literally, after you do that the game just gets easier. I mean its still challenging, but not rip your hair out frustrating!!
Here are some tips to help you get through it.
1). Dash is your friend. You will want to dash everywhere, don't walk don't run, dash. Like Forrest Gump, if you go anywhere, make sure you are dashing.
2). Use hit and Dash tactics. Because you can't take any hits(or alot). You don't want to focus on one guy and then move on to the next. This will result in death. What you want to do is dash, strike (make sure he's knocked over) and dash to the next guy. You basically want to make sure that enemies are either knocked back on the floor or just getting up. Once you see a guy getting up dash towards him and knock him down again. Don't worry about killing them on a combo, what you want to do is just keep moving around has fast has you can, getting strikes in when you can. Staying still or staying with one enemy will get you killed.
3). The big Stormtroopers (the big tall ones, I don't know what they are called, they shoot missiles and are a pain in the ass). You will want to lighting combo them. I don't mean shooting lighting, I mean pressing square, triangle, triangle.( I don't know the xbox buttons) This combo will keep them stunned and its creates a nice cycle that can help you defeat them rather quickly. But if there are other storm troopers around, you will want to kill them first.
4). Progression, when you enter a room, you want to take out the weakest first. Always start with the snipers, then the rocket pack stormtroopers, then the shotgun/cloaking stormtroopers and finally the regular grunts. Then you can move on too the big guys, the AT-ST or big storm troopers. Don't just go for the strongest enemies in the room first and try to kill them. The little ones will make your life a living hell.
5). Upgrade your Resilience and Vitality first. Then your Saber Damage. But a trick that can help you get these up quickly. It really is almost a cheat. In the later levels, really far into the game, a side mission will ask you to destroy a communication tower. Its in the level that you jump to the middle of the tower, destroy the 5 generators around the tower and the tower falls over and gives you a yellow sphere upgrade. After you have done this, just jump into the hole and die. It will restart you right before you have destroyed the tower, so then, just destroy the tower has many times has you like to keep getting yellow spheres to upgrade your defense and stuff. But this doesn't happen till late in the game, so you will still have alot of stuff to do to get to here. Its still no walk in the park after you upgrade.
6).Upgrade(Max out) your Force Push and Lighting all the ways for your power first. I didn't put any powers into force grip. I put 2 into force repulse and 3 into force shield. I just jump into a group of enemies and force repulse or push the group all over the place.
7). A trick that works because the game is soo glitchy, is you can attack certain enemies from afar and they won't come after you. If you can pick up items around you and throw them at enemies first. Throw everything you can get your hands on. IF you are far enough away, the enemies won't even do a thing. They will sit there and take all the punishment you can throw at them.
8).Each Boss seemed to have one weakness. Except the 2nd level boss.So please forgive me, cause I don't remember all the names of actually characters. And I mean 2nd level, this is not including Vader's level. Its the first level that starts with Starkiller.
Level 1 Boss (General Kota) - Force push seems to send this guy flying, force push and dash in for a strike.
Level 2 Boss (Kazdan) - He likes to get F'fd in the ass. Good luck!!
Level 3 Boss (Shaak Ti) - Force Repulse seems to knock her off her feet every time.
See here is when I don't know what levels we are at.
Bull Rancor - Wait for him to charge, dash outta the way and you can get in 6 saber strikes on the back of his legs before dashing away and repeating cycle.
Maris Brood - Lighting Shield. Keep this up and find her when she is invisible and strike her to death. As long has she is invisible she is vulnerable and the shield with help find her.
Proxy - Again, force repulse really helps in this fight. Darth Maul seems to have the force repulse has a weakness. It helps anyway.
Vader Fight 1 - Block and wait for him to use the red force push, jump over him and hit him from behind. Repeat until you move to the next room
Vader Fight 2 - Run into the room and immediately run to the left and start throwing things at Vader and don't stop until you've throw everything in the room at Vader. Once he jumps to the smaller area follow the same pattern in fight 1.
Final Boss, either emperor or Vader. I went with Vader because its 10 times easier. Although morally I wanted the good ending. When fighting Vader, just keep dashing around him and force gripping him. Once you grip him, throw him against the wall and dash towards him and stab him. Repeat and I killed him in less than 2 min. OOH yeah!!!
With all that, I honestly thought that once I started the game on Sith master and I was having alot of trouble in the first levels, I thought, "yup, that's it, I ain't getting any further". But, once you get past the second level, it really does get easier. I mean Vader is a walk in the park compare to the first part of the game.
Now with the release of starwars the force unleashed 2, I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Holy CRAP!!! I got shivers, I got super excited, I think there was movement in my pants!!!!!!
This looks awesome, Although it doesn't show any game play, no idea what the game is about ,I love the trailer and the look of the transformers. I mean why didn't they use those designs for the live action movie, in fact frozen turds on a stick would have been better than what Michael Bay decided to use.
Although its Activision again, so I may wait for one to go on sale at EB Games and get it second hand. See what the reviews say and see if it is worth helping out the developer. I wouldn't mind doing that.
Ok, like most of my post, I'm not going to "REVIEW" this game, instead give the story of me and my experience with it. If you haven't played this game, you've at least heard about it in some form or fashion. If you haven't heard about Battletoads and accidentally came here while looking for fighting frogs then you are at the wrong site.
Its 1991, I'm between that age where I still like my toys but I am noticing that girls smell pretty. Its a confusing time for me. To help with the transition I think that pounding baddies into the ground with frog/toad like characters will make all these awkward feelings go away.
WHAT, this is 2 player?!, holy shit I gotta get someone else to play with me. After about an hr of playing with someone I realize that we arn't going to get past the first stage due to my friend not being able to stay alive longer than 2 min intervals. Oh that's great, I died once and you died the rest of the times, thanks ..thank you...don't you have somewhere you have to be, I think I hear your mother calling you, you better go home, don't want to get lost in the wind/snow/hail/tornado storm. Well 2 player on Battletoads is useless if you want to progress, great fun for a while, but don't expect to get anywhere.
So I make it past the first level and it's all well and dandy until, "yup, you've guessed it, those damn hover bikes"
AAAANNNNDD, that's where the game goes in the shitter. I don't know how long it took me to get past that stage until when I finally did do it and immediately died in following stage only to have to restart the whole thing again. Well, I got pretty good at the bikes, lets just say that.
Well with that outta the way I can progress at a slow and steady pace, dieing alot but learning and being able to do it the next time around, its really not that bad.
Then the game developers decided that the bikes were so much fun that they would do another stage, but this time FASTER and HARDER. So yup, this is where the game ended for me, but not for a lack of trying. I couldn't do it, the pillars came out faster and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't do it. Luckily this game was a rental so I didn't have to beat it to get a new game, THANK GOD!!!
So after trying and trying and getting no where ,I hung my head in defeat. I revisited the game here and there only to be reminded that ,"yup, that's balls hard".
The only thing left of me to do is accept that Battletoads didn't do its job in helping my awkward transition and all I could do is go ahead with my task of finding out why girls smell the way they do.
Here is the EASY bike ride, that's right!!! THE EASY ONE!!!
Cause I haven't bought a new game since October, I've been going back and replaying my old games. Going back and working on getting some trophies, mainly Starwars-The Force Unleashed.
So far its all sunshine and lollipops, nothing really that hard about it. That is until you try and finish the game on its hardest setting.
The boss battles in Force Unleashed were always a little steep when compared to the actually game play. Its like if you were running across a valley then all of a sudden given a 400ft steep cliff to climb at the end.
So I plugged in and started the game on its hardest setting. The first level was difficult but got through it ok. The same for the junk level (level2) then you get to the boss. OOOHH MMYYYY GOOOOD!!! Is this fucker hard!!!
It is easily the hardest thing I've ever done in ANY game, yes even harder then the end boss on Killzone 2 on its hardest setting.
I ran to the Internet crying and broken looking for strategies for beating this asshole(Kazdan Paratus) None of them worked. Why??
Its all just too random at the hardest setting, people saying,"do this method and he will never hit you, AT ALL!!". Bullshit!!
Things that happened to Me while trying to beat this guy.
1)His Force Push. I don't know if he has it laced with poison ever 5th or 6th time he uses it. But I could have spent 10 min taking away 1/4 of his life and I would have full life. He then use his force push, while I was blocking. It would hit me and I would die. It would take away AAALLLLLL of my life in one hit, blocking it didn't seem to matter. Other times it would take away a small portion of my life. Regardless of what I was pushed into, pushed into nothing, pushed into the wall I understand. But to be blocking and absorbed a force push and immediately die!!!??? This happened countless times. Because of this, I could avoid all of his attacks but his force push was a crap shoot.
2)The middle portion of the floor. On this level there is this little raised area in the middle of the floor. You can easily walk over this except when you get stuck on it. But it works both ways, I could get stuck and the fucknut could also get stuck. You could be trying to close the gap to get a quick strike or trying to run away and get stuck on this little ledge. Either way, your fucked. At once point the enemy got stuck and I was lighting striking him and he wasn't able to get over the lip of the middle floor. I thought I had died and gone to heaven, WHOO HOO. I will just stand here and lighting strike him to death,.....but then he forced pushed me and I instantaneously died.
3)Patterns. This guy is all over the place, yes you could learn all his moves and when he generally does what and when is he going to do it. But on insane shut your mouth hardness level, that is mostly out the window. You could be thinking you are doing the right thing with a great pattern of hit and run, and then outta no where he explodes balls all over you and your dead. Yup death by ball death, it really didn't matter. The game saw that you were taking advantage of something and said, "fuck you player, your MYY Bitch!!!!"
4)Glitches. Oh good there are so many glitches on this stupid game. My favorite is when they are not facing you and use force push in the opposite direction, BUT I still get hit. Really?!! He was shooting south, I am north, did it travel around the entire planet??..i guess so, cause I got hit with it. This happened countless times, I would be facing to his right, he would strike left and I get hit with imaginary invisible swings.
5)LOCK ON. AAhh, that is a joke. In this critical time where ever strike, every push, every lighting bolt counts, to have at the last min have it lock onto a rock and strike in that direction is frustrating beyond all belief. You can hold R1 to achieve a lock on, but you better hope that the auto lock locks onto the baddie before you press R1, other wise you are going to lay a world of hurt on that inanimate object.
6)Blocking. Who needs to block?!! For shitballs sake, let me block. I would press the block button, but there is a delay. That split second delay is all it takes for dick weasel to stick me with his laser prick.
7)Spamming. I would like to spam the shit outta this asshole. But I can't..but....the computer can spam. Countless times I would be blocking and he would do this one combo that ended with a force push. If you blocked it the first time, he would just stand there and spam, force push over and over and over and over and over.Until eventually it would break the block and send me across the level. Overall, this is what it must feel like to be F'ed in the A by a bunch of prison inmates. By the time the 12th guy take his turn, you really don't care and just accept that this is whats happening. It is brutal!
I tired to find help online and they are somewhat right. With 6 hrs of trying to find out how to beat him, I found a chink in his armor that none of the help videos tell you. SO PREPARE FOR THE HOW TO: FUCK THIS MOFO UP!!
1)The first portion of the battle is the hardest. But, this works and works 100% of the time when you do in the second and third portion of the battle.
2)The enemy jumps into the middle of the screen, make sure you are facing the direction of where he enters.(The area where he climbs up and throws shit at you )
3)When he lands, lock on to him with R1, and tap the lightning strike. Don't hold it. Tap it twice. The first one may be blocked but by tapping it twice gets his every time. Don't do a frantic double tap, Just tap......tap.
4)After that immediately follow up with 2 taps for force throw. You could try one, but 2 makes sure you hit him. Sometimes you can only do one due to how much energy you get back on the recharge time.
5)When you throw him, he will fly off the edge of the arena and climb up the poll to jump back in. Its here that you back up and repeat the process.
Its the first battle portion that is hard because the walls are all still standing. So when you do the force push, he will slam into the wall. But if you keep force pushing him in the same direction, it will eventually break through. Now this is hard and will take some practice, but by god, does it make life easier.
So I guess by now, you have deduced that I have gotten pass him, THANK GOD!! This boss was super hard and so far I was able to go through the rest of the game with relative difficulty. But I still have a long way to go, until the next boss stomps me hard.
Here are some videos that I looked up. They all have the general way to defeat him, but they are either facing the wrong direction, blocking when they don't need too. Just making it harder in general. The way I describe above will work 100% of the time for the 2nd and 3rd portion of the battle.
This method is useless, he blocks force grip 80% of the time. I don't know if this guy is cheating or has full upgrades. But judging by the amount of life that the enemy loses upon each hit, I am assuming its on a easier setting. He doesn't lose that much life per hit on the hardest setting.
So has of late, I've been seeing alot more of these videos of girl destroying their boyfriends gaming consoles for what ever their reasons. One seems set up(blond chick), while the other is a result of todays technology being so readily available with photos, recording , tweeting, etc, now they can record themselves going crazy.
A few days ago I had Dan from Gameolio ask me about my gaming life and how it has evolved. I wrote out a lengthy blurb about how I got started and how it has changed. I thought it was pretty interesting to see how my gaming life has changed over time. So I am posting what I wrote for all to see. (How did your gaming life change over time?)
My gaming life has evolved dating back to my Atari 2600. Video games have always been a part of my life growing up with the tabletops, Atari, Coleco, Vectrex, those horrible little handhelds that you had to wind up to make them work.
That was the beginning for me. Of course I stayed with video games after that as well, playing with the NES, Genesis, Sega CD, SNES, N64 and then for a long time sticking with the PS1.It was during the time of the PS1 that I really dropped off from playing games. I was a little older and my priorities changed from gaming to being a more social butterfly. I was more concerned with where the next party was at and University then what game was coming out next.
I guess after that got outta my system the PS2 and Xbox was out for a couple of years. I didn't know anything about the Xbox so I went with what I knew, which was the playstation.
I really enjoyed my PS2 with my first 3 titles being Twisted Metal Black, Tekkan Tag and Batman. I really loved all those games and it really invigorated my love for video games again. I didn't play hardcore, just efficient.
My Family had a rule when I was younger, I wasn't allowed to get a new game until I had finished the one that I was playing. I mean my family didn't have lots of money to blow 50-60 dollars on a game every time I got bored with the one I was playing. So I had to show them when I got towards the end of a game, "look mom, come watch me beat Castlevania."
Because of this strict regime, I played the hell outta the game that I was currently playing. I knew every trick that could be done, where every item could be found, what dungeon to take, and I enjoyed doing all this. THIS is what translates to my gameplay today. Today with Trophies/achievements, because I have that built in need to finish the game to 100%, to have done everything there is to do in a game, it is satisfying to now have an award to go along with that. I mean I was doing it all along anyway, so now its just nice to be awarded. So even today at 32, I still don't buy a new game till I've finished the one that I am currently playing. Although I am not has strict on myself has when I was a kid. There are games that I have finished like Street Fighter 4 but I can't do the "Moves" trials. My fingers just can't move fast enough to pull off those well timed combos.
So today I don't feel compelled to play the next hot game this week or month. I still haven't bought modern warfare 2 and I just now picked up fallout 3 and last month I just finished playing the first uncharted the same week that the 2nd one came out. Mainly due to I don't mind waiting for prices to drop or I am busy with another game and I have another one that I want to play before that. There are just so many games coming out that my play style doesn't allow for playing a game has fast has I can so I can beat it and move on to the next one.
My biggest gripe is with Killzone 2 trophies, or the last 2 for me I should say. The last 2 are," get within the top 3%-1% of the leader boards for that week." I went online to find out what are the numbers I have to do to accomplish this. It comes out to playing 8 hrs a day 12-15 hrs on the weekends for that week to make the 1%. I don't have that kind of time. I'm lucky if I play 2 hrs every second or 3rd night. I just have other things I do with family and work.
So that one really bothers me because it is set up to be gotten only by people with no lives and do nothing but play with no responsibilities. That eeks me! I know I could do it, cause I was pretty kick ass in Killzone 2 always coming in the top 3 for that round. I just don't have the time to invest into that achievement.
Unlike the Resistance 2 trophy of getting 10,000 kills online. That may seem impossible, but there's no time constraint on it. It took me over a year to get 10,000 kills playing a little here and there. But it is doable.
So overall for now, I play when I get the time and I play hard cause I don't know when I am going to play again.
Its DEC 1st, which means I can buy eggnog!!! Yaaayyy. I know I can buy it most of the year, but its tradition, for me anyway.
With Christmas comes video games for Christmas. A chance when your parents got you not 1, but maybe 2 and if Ole Saint Nick was willing and you were a especially good boy/girl that year. MAYBE..just maybe...3!!!! HOLY SOCKS AND BALLS!!! 3 Video games all at once!!??
Don't get too excited, one year, my two games were Mystery Quest and Air Fortress for the NES. What are those games?? Don't ask, I think I wrote about mystery quest back in my 2008 post. Needless to say they weren't too good. That's what you get when you say to your mom, "surprise with me games this year, I don't want to know". Don't do this if you truly want to be disappointed has a kid.
Anyway, with that, comes the ripping of Christmas with Christmas games, but not just any Christmas games. People aren't smart enough to come up with a good game based off of Christmas, so why not rip off a Christmas movie and make that into a game. Sounds great Bob, what do I have to do?!
Now I never even knew that these games existed, never seen any game shots of them, nothing. But seeing has most of them are movie tie-ins, I can only imagine the fine quality of game play that you can expect from these cases of Christmassay Goodness.
So I am going to make a little blurp what I think the game is about.
1) Polar Express: I never seen the movie but have seen commercials for it. So based off what I know, the premise of the game is like a train simulator. So you sit for hrs and hrs on end has you drive your passengers to safety. Feel free to ring the bell, it whistles God Bless ye Merry Gentlemen.
2) Dr Suess How the Grinch Stole Christmas: This one is like a old timey mystery game, a point and click game if you will. But you get to play a tough and dirty Who, who interrogates other Who's to find out who stole Christmas and why. By finding out why, we know the how and the who, which who, the who who did the how!
3)The Nightmare before Christmas - The Pumpkin King Side scroller shooter, you fly around in a pumpkin until you've killed enough village peasants that they accept you has their king, THEIR PUMPKIN KING!!!
4)A Christmas Carol My favourite Christmas movie/story. This one HAS to be good.!!So because its my favourite Christmas movie/story. I bet it has Transformers -(the good 80's ones not the shitty ass Michael Bay Goat Cheese ones.) - stomp on the poor people decreasing the surplus population. Each stomped poor person gets you a stamp. The stamps can then be traded into the salvation army store for new and bigger stomping boots.
5) The Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause This one is easy, you play Tim Allen who works at the mall as a Santa. You have to make kids like you or other wise they will spit, pee and poo on you. Get covered in too much pee and poop and you lose at life and will probable star in The Santa Claus 11 co-staring Britney Spears.
There you go, a great selection of Christmas game to start off the Christmas Holidays!!
