Scribblenauts - Nintendo DS

This is the perfect type of gameplay for how I play my DS. I don't sit down and play for an hr or more on the DS, more like 20-30 min. This game lends itself wonderfully to this type of gameplay sessions.

Premise: They give you a scenario and you have to solve it by typing/drawing in objects that can be used to solve the puzzle. Inventive and Entertaining.

There are 10 worlds each with their own theme and each gets harder. Each world has 11 stages in puzzle and action. So each level has 22 stages, more than enough to keep you entertained.

You are given a ridicules amount of things to come up with. You can't use real names of things like Dracula, but you can use vampire, that sort of thing. Other times different words can mean the same thing. Since you can't use the same thing twice on a level. Writing Explosives and then Dynamite will get you the same item. Which can be helpful if you need more of the same.

The levels start out easy and fun but get hard pretty quick, which results in the creativity becoming stale because I keep using what works. The main thing I use is vampire to kill things, fire to burn or melt things and the rocket pack to get to areas I can't reach. Those 3 things are a staple in my completing a level.

So in that aspect, completing a level and earning points is based on the least number of turns it takes you to create items, the time it takes you to pass the level and the specific items you use in creativity that earns you points. The least amount of points I ever got was 70, it took my 9 min and 12 created items, way past the required par 4 of the level.

Then theres the money you earn which buys you more levels and costumes and create a level , all adding a little more to the game.

Overall, its fun, but can become stale because I keep using what works, other wise dieing over and over gets frustrating. Some levels will make you want to ring your friggin neck and clicking things that you didn't mean too can become annoying. But, its a great time waster for a few mins here and there.

A Great little game for the DS. I scribble it a "Cthulhu" vs "God". Do it and now once and for all you can see who wins in battle, true story.

Forums Experience

I recently got into forums. Mainly to meet other gamers who enjoy gaming and possible set up a gaming night with a bunch of enthusiast. The same kind of gaming that can only be had with gaming online with friends.

(I didn't write the ,"are the people in GT idiots")

I listen to a podcast from Gamerdork.uk and they talked about coming to their forums and meeting a great community of gamers. So I tried it out and it was just that, a friendly environment to meet and chat with other gamers around the world.

So with the great success of this and meeting some interesting people to play with online. I dove into other forums and things took a dive for the worse. It turned into who could rape the other the fastest. While GamerDork forums were friendly and genuine, I don't know if its because the majority of the people there were around my age or the admins watch for people who start a bitch fest!

But with these other gaming forums I visited, it was just one guy saying one thing and then everyone else jumping on him/her. It turned into a bitchfest, Xbox sucks, PS3 sucks, Wii blows, you blow, your gay, your a faggot, your a N#$@ER, your mother. God forbid someone post a video, especially if it had a girl in it. I do her, I give her mouth a workout, and it just got worse and worse.

Any chance for a normal conversation is thrown out the window. So I am really glad that there are good forums with common sense admins. But at the same time there are forums where I think admins get a kick outta reading all this bashing. Its things like this why I don't like playing with random people online and then to have it all flood into forums like this or perhaps it has always been like this, I don't know, again I am new to the forum thing.

But doing a little checking into members accounts from forums like this and seeing their history. It appeared to be, if they were causing shit at one site, they were causing shit at others has well. AND, This is the biggest thing, the majority of the people were 14-17 year old boys. The most racist, vulgar people playing games online and on forums were teenage boys.

I was a teenage once, but I've never felt the need to do what these people do. Its sad to see things degenerate into this type of behavior. A little smack talk between friends with a friendly game is one thing, but what these people do is downright awful. The only thing one can do get away from this is avoid it all together, which is sad, because it should be the other way around. These types of people need to get kicked. Why should the people who are enjoying themselves have to leave a online game or leave a forum because of a handful of Assholes?! I look forward to the day when we have more control over abuse like this.

Its the regular bully scenario when you are a kid. The bully always picks on the kid at the arcade and what do the parents tell the kid, then don't go to the arcade. Great!! The bully wins. Its about time that these people get the boots!!

Activision - Tony Hawk Ride - FAIL!!!

Bout Time!! If you follow this blog, then you must know I have a hate-on for Activision. Well now, its good to see them fall on their face. It starting to feel like the early 90's all over again with the power glove (or was that late 80's) Nintendo pad, Sega CD X turbo super duper combo gigiMc-goo!!

The new ride looks and feels like it should. If you already know how to skateboard, then you will have a easier time learning this than someone who doesn't. But games arn't suppose to be like that, they are suppose to give people the feeling of being able to do things that they can't normally do in the real world.(like get hands from hookers and then beat them to get your money back in GTA)

This is a great review of the game, I love it. I can watch it over and over!

I especially like the video of the dog on the board. Great, that really shows how well built this shitty ass piece of hardware is. It can be played by a Dog!! (Or is this suppose to support the game and show people, just how easy it is? IF that's the case, are you saying consumers are just has smart has dogs?!. I don't like where this is going Mr Activision!!

Top 50 Horrible Voice Acting

Since listening to the horrible voice acting in Conan I came across this video. I don't know if its a trend, but the majority of the bad acting comes from anime type games. Big head, big elaborate hair, Outfits that look like they are made from 2-3 other outfits, giant eyes, little tiny mouths, small noses and can't tell if they are a boy or girl syndrome. Or I could just be looking for things to fuel my hate-on for Anime. ( I do like some, a teeny tiny bit)

Conan - Xbox 360

Just got finished Conan. I gotta say, its not a bad game. It was alot more enjoyable than Dark Sector, not that "that" game was bad. I just enjoyed Conan alot better. I have a few gripes with the game, but overall, its not bad at all.

Yummies, (couldn't think of a word for pro's)

1. The gameplay is pretty fun, very god of war like, but without the polish. Very rough around the edges in regards to hit detection and the like.

2. Conan has 3 skill sets he can choose from, sword and shield, double weapons, and two-handed fuck you weapons. I went with the sword and shield. I like to play a little defense. Each skill set can be played on the fly. He can he caring a sword and shield and then pick up a two-handed weapon on the ground. Pretty simple, and of course each weapon has their own set of skills to learn. Kinda like ninja Gaiden, but no where near has involved.

3. There is enough variety with weapons and kills to keep the gameplay fun and feeling new.

Grips or Grips (Kinda like wind and wind, record and record)

1. Jumping. Conan I guess was never known for his jumping skills. LOOKOUT , CONAN IS JUMPING TOWARDS US!!!!! No worries, he will just misjudge the jump and fall to his death or just not jump at all and run of the ledge to his death. WoW, the game really captured that part of the comics. I soo remember reading all the times Conan jumped to his death, or tried too.

2. The loves cheap hits, not since streets of rage or double dragon have I come across a game where enemies will surround and punch you to death, no matter what button you press. You cannot move or dodge or run, nothing. You bounce around like a pinata from one sword to another.

3. The graphics arn't that great. ok, that's being nice. This looks more like a PS2 game, cut scenes and all. They really didn't pull their weight on this game.

4. The voice acting is some of the worse I've heard in a long while. Half the time I couldn't take it seriously and just chuckled through what was saying. Even the very last lines of the game when the woman was telling the last parts of teh story, I still don't know what she said. I wasn't listening, all I heard was a over the top,"NOW HEAR ME CONAN, blah blah, blah, blah!!
Through the whole game I am going, "I've heard Conan's voice before, AAHH, that's right, it's Ron Pearlman!".
God did he never not want to do this project. I like Ron Pearlman, but did he ever drop the ball on this gig. I think he phoned in the dialogue while he was taking a shit, its just plain BAD!!

With that, the games not half bad. I enjoyed it more than Dark Sector and I finished the game in little over 6 hrs. One thing I didn't like and this was Xbox related. During Quicktime events, they would flash, B,Y,A,X and I don't use the Xbox controller alot. So when the buttons would flash, I would quickly glance down to see where the buttons were. But of course you only get a split second to tap the correct button. And that second that it took me to look, made me die, ALOT!!!

I had the same thing with Kung-fu Panda, but that one was a little more forgiving because its a kids game. But this was hardcore, there were titties in this game, BOOBS!!

So with that, if and when a game does come out for both systems, I will probable stick with the PS3. I am just more familiar with the controller, dieing all the time cause I hit the red button and not the yellow button gets old fast.

So, Conan - Good - like boobies and toast.

PS3 Firmware 3.10

So an updated started last night and my first reaction was ,"oh crap!" I got it confused with the 3.01 update that made alot of PS3' not able to play blueray disc.

It updated and I stuck a disc in and it played just fine. So with that, I went to explore what was added.

1) Facebook linked with PS3 account. ummmm, no thank you. Its all optional, you can have your account linked to your facebook. So it will show your trophies has you get them, store purchases and gaming. I'm glad that its optional, this and home are the 2 most useless things on the PS3.

2) It updates how you view photos. So instead of a big list of photos, there' a selection of thumbnails in a selection box. Much more navigable. But because I don't have any photos, this is pretty blah. I mean its more efficient if you use this feature, but were that many people complaining that they had to scroll to look at their pictures?!.

3) My favourite, you can change the color of your PSN display card. So where it use to be grey, now you can select from of selection colors. So now instead of a list of grey where your friends list is, now its a rainbow of colors.

No Cross Game chat like everyone was saying, with the rumors and all. That's very sad. I like the new color feature. I hope eventually that they make a more elaborate feature to snazzy up the friends card. It starts with colors to eventually theme cards, which we will probable have to buy. But you know what, I will happily buy a theme or 2 for the right price.

Dark Sector - Xbox 360

I've finally gotten some time to play one of the two games that have been sitting on my shelf since Christmas of last year. Mainly because these aren't games that I was interested in, they just came has bonus games with the Xbox 360 bundle. Not to say they are bad games, they are just games that I would not buy on my own.

So is Dark Sector Bad?..No. Its not the best FPS I've played, but by no means does it fall into the category of some of the worst FPS I've played. Haze, Fall of Liberty comes to mind for Bad FPS.

So here is me trying to keep it simple( I doubt that)

Good.

1) Using the Glaive and all its powers is a really nice and new take on the FPS genre. Throwing that thing and slicing enemies heads off is very satisfying. Its just not a throw mechanic, but you can control it in a slo-mo event, you can charge it with fire, electricity and ice. Each having different effects on enemies. My favourite by far is the Ice, throwing a ice glaive into a group of enemies and then detonating your glaive to instantly freeze them all.

2) Adding powers to the character is a nice touch to game play. You can create shields, make yourself invisible, supercharge. It adds that little bit of more to a game that otherwise would make it just another FPS.

3) Upgrading you weapons. You have slots in weapons that you buy that you can add, more damage, stopping power, accuracy, clip extenders, etc. Its just a nice little touch that I enjoyed doing. (what I didn't understand and I still don't. I don't know if I missed a part in the story but when you pick up weapons on the ground dropped by enemies. You can only hold on to the gun for a certain amount of time before they dissolve in your hands. I never understood why. But if you buy your own gun from the black market, then that gun will always remain with you. IT was funny cause when I would pick up a gun from an enemy, when it started to dissolve it would start to beep. This beeping drove my dog,"Moose" insane. He would stare at the TV and growl and little half barks. It was quite funny.

4) Vehicles and BFG's are always fun. This game has a fun little machine for you to drive around in plus a fantastic gun that you get way late in the game. It makes you slow has hell, but with fire power like this you don't need to run.

Those are the things that I liked in the game. Then we have the standard FPS which has nothing special. You played one like this, you've played them all. Its the glaive and its powers plus the upgrading of your weapons that makes it different and keeps it from becoming stale.

Bad.

1) Again the same problem that I was having with uncharted. The covering system and dodge are the same button. So lots of times I wanted to dodge gun fire quickly by tapping the dodge button and instead, because I was near a wall, box,etc he would take cover. Often times taking cover on the wrong side of the item. So there I am out in the open crouched down infront of the box with all the enemies on the same side has me has they shoot and kill me. Its like running the wrong way down the football field has my team looks on in amazement and the opposing team stand around and say,"no, leave em alone, hes doing well.

2) Not being able to get around enemies. I learned early in the game that you can't go around a enemy quickly with a dodge. Instead I just slammed into a invisible wall. With a group of enemies, mainly the ones that melee you. I became trapped in a corner has they punched me to death all the while I was unable to do anything but die. It felt like an old fashion stoning.

Other than that, there weren't really too many things that kept coming up. I mean, there were times that I couldn't tell where I was getting shot from, some areas were really dark and I couldn't see. It had that grey gun metal feel to the over all game, not has bad has gears of war, but there none the less.

The game is not bad. I doubt I will ever play it again but I did enjoy myself. The game is 19.99$ if you want to buy it, I got it free. If you are a big fan of FPS and have to play all FPS. Then you'll be happy with this buy, its ok. Point Being, the game didn't want me to make me rip my eyeballs out at anytime.

I can't give it a score. Its ok. Scores don't matter anyway, so I will give it a "Q"

What's wrong with my connection?

This has been happening from time to time, but now it's full-blown constant.

My PS3 keeps not being able to connect through my router.
Without changing anything, it suddenly .... stopped.

All the lights are on, on the PS3 end and the router.
The wire works (I checked it).
Sometimes, I'll be able to suddenly log in.
And then it will stop for no reason. And won't connect back.

When I try to configure the PS3 to reconnect, lights on the router flash, so there IS SOMETHING happening. But then it always times out, saying it can't obtain an IP address. The shit?
I've tried automaic IP, I've tried entering it manually. Nothing!

All the other things connected to the router don't have that happening. They work!
My wireless things also keep working.

But both my wireless and wired connections from the PS3 just crap out.

WHYYYYYYYYY?!!!
This is frustrating! I can't log on and I didn't DO ANYTHING to change anything!

My First Chat on Xbox Live

Wow! A couple nights ago I had my first chatting experience on Xbox live. I was playing Dark Sector while talking with Jaison while he played Modern Warfare 2. I see what all the hype is about. This is a fantastic feature.

I understand what pat was talking about, when he said why did our voices drop between loading screens while playing resistance 2 online. I've always taken that has,"that's just how PS3 online is. Most games lose the chat when the game loads". I can see after being on Xbox where you can talk through everything and then all of a sudden losing chat because the game is loading would be annoying. And it is.

I'll admit I didn't know what I was doing. Jaison sent me a message saying he wanted to chat. So I rushed in the closet to find the 360 box and get my headset which was still in the plastic. Then I couldn't find where to plug it in. Poking at all the holes on the Xbox until Jaison says, "its on the controller". AHHHHH, I see, that's pretty cool. Probable eats up my batteries faster now since its powering the headset and controller. I still don't like that about the controllers, batteries. I have bought a charagebale set and a charger, but now seth uses them. So I have to get him his own set has well.

But Sony needs to get off their asses and get this feature on the PS3, there's no reason they shouldn't have it on there. no more god damn home shit! I don't care about new furniture for my apt or new pants.

I did hear from a podcast that someone from Naughty Dog was talking with a Sony rep and let it slip that cross game chat will be coming with the next update for the PS3. But I expect a lot of bugs and just weird shit happening. Anyway, great stuff. I'm still not paying 60$ to play online.

I Don't Exist on Xbox Live

So like I usually do with my PSN card, I just click it and it takes me to a log in page where I can view my online stats. Well this time I try and do the same thing with my XLB card and it takes me to page where it tells me I don't exist on Xbox live.

Doesn't make any sense, the XLB is displaying the proper information of the latest games I've been playing and the achievements that I required. But when I click on my profile, it says its not there. WTF?! oh well, it doesn't matter, it still updates my info. Just shitty that I don't exist in the Microsoft world.

Since I don't exist, I wonder if that means I can murder. I only get one shot at this, so wish me luck.

Beating Uncharted : Drake's Fortune on Crushing

I always like to read up on a game for tips before I start playing it on the hardest settings. To find any little tidbit that may help the task at hand.

As always I find the the most unhelpful and incorrect information has possible. Always my favorite is :

1) I did it and it wasn't hard.

Oh well, that helps!

2) Just pick a spot and stay there and pick them off one by one.

Obviously this guy didn't play it on crushing mode. The enemies swarm your position and if they don't do that. They will grenade it from afar. They Flank from every position. I would love to stay in one spot and pick them off one by one, but you can't do that. If you can, then you copy is defective.

3)Its not hard, I only died maybe 2 times per level.

I died countless times per level. The only way that you don't die per level is if you have no job or school and play this all the time. For someone who sits down and plays through like a normal person, you cannot do each level and die less than 2 times. If you can beat uncharted on crushing and not die more than 2 times. Than you fall into one of those categories or are a freak of nature. But since nature didn't have video games in mind when it made the trees and animals, then I guess its just a freak then.

Really, I myself can't offer any real strategy for the game. I mean enemies behave different every time you die and respawn. 90% of the gun fire is instant death and they are deadly accurate with their grenades.

Crushing mode is called that for a reason. Its really hard. But what I didn't notice in my regular play through was the controls. In regular and even hard mode, if you miss a hiding spot or leap somewhere you didn't want to. The game was forgiving enough to give you some recoup time. Not in crushing mode, if I wanted to roll across a hall way quickly, but instead he just jumped out into the middle of the hallway. The game made you pay for you stupid mistake with death.

I died alot because he would hide when I wanted him to dodge, he would crouch when I wanted him to take cover on the corner. He would take cover when I wanted him to sprint and roll. This all results in death.

That being said, some tips. There really arn't any. The usal stuff applies here.
Make shots count, Try to get head shots if possible (its hard). Try and remember how many enemies are going to appear and keep track. There was too many times I cleared a whole room only to be killed by the last guy who was hiding around corner.

Enemies swarm you, they flank you, they grenade your cover area. Shoot, headshot, take cover and repeat. There been times that I ran out in the area and frantically punch and shoot them to death, Finally get past that stupid part only to get shot in the back by a guy I didn't even see.

Crushing mode is really hard. Harder then alot of the other games I've played. Up there with killzone 2, not the boss part. But the rest for sure.

Well with that done, I now have my 9th Platinum. Whats next for the PS3, nothing for awhile. I am going to go and play the two 360 titles that have been sitting on my shelf since Christmas of last year. So for the next little while, its all about lovin the 360.

I would post a video of something uncharted in crushing mode, but I don't believe most of the videos are in crushing mode. Mainly due to watching them get hit multiple times and still surviving and healing really fast. When you get hit in crushing mode it takes a good little while for your health to come back and even then your lucky if the first shot does't kill you cause the second one will. In those videos I seen a guy get hit 4 times and his life didn't even hit gray mode. Pansies Liars!!

Uncharted : Drake's Fortune - PS3

I never played either of the Uncharted games, I just never. But was always told that it is a game I must play. So thanks to my good friend and contributor to Pacroid, Ian. I now have the opportunity to play Uncharted - Drakes Fortune.

So I played it. It was good. I enjoyed myself. It was fun. Yup!

Yeah, that says it all. I mean what can I say? Its a great game and if you were like me and never played the game. Then do yourself a favor and play this.

I heard they were making a movie about this. The lead role in talks in Hugh Jackman. I think that's a bad casting choice. I think Nathan Fillion from the FireFly series is perfect (although Ian disagrees, SCREW YOU IAN!!) The mannerism and just how he(Drake) behaved reminded me so much of Nathan Fillion. But I doubt he will get to play the part and we will end up with Seth Rogan or Shia Lebeouf.

Uncharted - Drake's Fortune - Good

The Winner of the Game Giveaway IS.......

So this is about the saddest thing ever. The first game I give away that I didn't absolutely shit on and called crap gets 2 people wanting it. I guess the card game genre is pretty low.

Well to be honest there were 2 more, but they were both spamers, some German spam and a entire casino wanted the marvel game and wanted me to check out what they had to offer and ALSO, they like what I had to say.

Wow, A online casino like what I had to say. Perhaps I should write to them and see if I can work there writing random nonsense. On to the Wieners!

I tossed both names into a hat with a 50-50 chance of winning, the WINNER IS.....

ADAM!!!!! yyaaaaaaayyyy ( I would have cheered if you won too Brad, I show no favoritism)

So all you have to do to collect your prize is 2 ways.
1) Show up to my house in Charlottetown PEI OR...
2) Email me your mailing address via pacroid@live.com. In a few days I will send you your awesome prize.

If you manage to figure out how to play it then I will also send you a chicken wing. LIFE can't get any better.

Congrats Adam , sorry Brad. Please try again, I am sure I will give away other random gaming shit.

Dead Rising - Xbox 360

I know I'm late to the party with this one, but better late than never. This game has been on my radar every since it was released with the 360. I was pretty excited about this game, there's nothing like killing tons of zombies. I enjoyed Burn zombie Burn and Zombie Apocalypse, so this was more of that with more on the side and topped with a little more.

So in the end, I probable hyped the game too much in my head, being so long and so many people raving about the game. I just had so many things that I didn't like about the game. So let me list them in Goods and Bads. MM, proper engrish makes I happy.

The Goods

1. I really enjoyed the sandbox layout of the game. The go anywhere in the mall and use just about everything has a weapon or an item to enhance your performance. Just like the GTA's its always fun to frig around and blow shit up, plus killing zombies.

2. The humorous and inventive ways to kill zombies. I thought the shower head was one of the more useless items until the very end of the game when I stabbed a zombie in the head with it and it showered blood from the nozzle.

3. (This is a double edged sword for me) I appreciate the new game play mechanic, trying something new with giving a time frame to have all this stuff happen. It's a great way to tell a story and push a sense of urgency on the player.

4. I did enjoy being able to carry over my stats if I died..... (See the bad #4)

The Bads.

1. Exactly what I said for the Goods in number 3 is also why I dislike it. Yes I appreciate what they were trying to do, but I don't like timed missions. This whole game and all its missions are one big TIMED mission. Like GTA, I would avoid the timed missions like the plague unless I had to do them. I just don't like being pushed in my game play, I like taking my time and exploring these sandbox type games.

2. The inventory box had me shouting at the TV more than once. Not its setup or how anything is displayed. For example, I would have in my inventory a knife, orange juice(healing item) and a book (the books boost your abilities with items, etc) I would be slicing through a group of zombies so when the action gets fast and your trying not to get hit or swarmed, all of a sudden your knife breaks and it automatically goes to the next item in line. Which in many cases was my healing item or that damn book. So often in the middle of battle he would stop and "MMMMMM" over the book while surrounded by zombies. Resulting in me dieing and doing it all over again. That or I would drink my precious healing item while I had full life. This was infuriating.

3. I didn't feel the controls were naturally laid out. I mean all controls for every game has an adjustment period, that's normal. But even to the end of the game, it would do things that I didn't mean him to do, move , punch, jump, use. It all resulted in me going, "NO NOT THAT YOU FRIKKEN IDIOT!!!". Perhaps I should have checked the controls and see if I could map them to different buttons. But I didn't, I don't think I ever did that for any game, besides invert the Y axis that is.

4. I didn't enjoy that when I did die I had to restart the whole damn thing again. So at some point I said fuck all you survivors and the story and I just explored the mall and all it had to offer.

IT was when I took that approach to the game, it started to become fun again. I rescued people if I came across them or tried too resuce them, the AI in the game is horrible. Sometimes they would be great, other times it was horrible and I said screw it to quite a few people who didn't listen to me constantly pounding on the command button to ,"FOLLOW ME".

So in that respect this game is just like the horror movies. If you go out of your way to save someone, 9 times outta 10, I ended up dead. So my moral side was wanting to rescue everybody, but getting so frustrated with it all to the point that I wasn't having fun. So after I said screw it, you can all die I began enjoying the game again. But doing that the story became lost and I didn't know what caused what or why things happened.

So I enjoyed the game in parts and disliked it in other parts. Knowing what I know now, when I heard that Deadrising 2 was coming out. I was sure I was going to get it. But if it has that same time game play, then I would have to say No to this title. It was a fun little romp, but the time mechanic just makes me angry.

Here is a trailer for Dead Rising 2

Resistance 2 - Getting the Killing Machine Trophy

I've FINALLY DONE IT!!! At long last, it is done. I HAVE 10,000 kills, 10,020 kills to be exact.
Boy that one was one of the longest challenges I've ever done, next to completing the ambulance missions in GTA Vice City, that took me a long time to do as well.

So with that done, I get my 8th Platinum trophy, yeehaaaww.
But here are some stats that may help others trying to get this trophy. Some facts that when I myself searched for online. The gaming community is generally vague, saying stuff like, keep at it. Its gonna take a while but keep playing. This doesn't give me any numbers. So these numbers may be different for everyone depending on how many kills you get per round. But at least its something to give you an idea of how far you have to go to get the Killing Machine Trophy.

Stats for Resistance 2 Competitive Online Play

Kills - 10,020
Deaths - 6811
Suicide -47 (You get a longer respawn time if you kill yourself)
Playing Time - 3 days 14 hrs 40 min 44 secs
Rounds Played - 685
Most used weapon - Carbine with 3028 kills
Second most used weapon - Marksmen with 2367 kills
Least used weapon - Shotgun with 101 kills (Useless in my opinion)
Competitive level obtained - 29
XP - 9,501,330
Overall Word Rank - 11,213

Lets compare these stats to the number one guy on the Resistance leader boards, Sprague007.

Sprague007
Kills - 202,432
Playing Time - 39 days 15 hrs 19 min 1sec
Rounds Played - 8036
XP - 186,319,710

Those are some crazy stats. Well with that done, I don't think I will be playing Resistance 2 for some time now. Unless its with friends from my friends list, that is always a good time.

Killzone 2 Soundtrack On Itunes

Its funny, cause when the game first came out I was looking for the Helghast march.(The main theme in the game) I couldn't find it to download anywhere.

Well, now its just a click away. You can get the Killzone 2 soundtrack on itunes. Buy the whole album or get each song for 99c. I only got the theme song, I really like it. Its drum pounding good, but I don't think there's drums in it.

Hackers on PS3

I've been playing my little heart out alot lately on Resistance 2. Mindboggeling slow, trying to get the 10,000 kill trophy. Every now and then you come across a player online that is insanely good and I thought nothing of it till a few days ago when when I thought what may be happening, actually was.

At first it was seeing a player at the end of a game with 53 kills while everyone else had 21 and 18, 16, and so on.But on 2 particular gaming sessions I came across a guy (Dally Waffle) who was blipping all over the screen. At first I thought it was lag. So I put my headset on and asked other players on my team if they too were seeing this. Sure enough they were.

But it wasn't the regular lag, where hes walking along and then it looks like snapshots. Sure he was blipping in and out, but he was also walking on air and jumping 50ft into the air. I was amazed by this, mainly because I didn't know people could hack the PS3 online. Then I saw the same thing with another player, jumping all around the screen, floating, teleporting, it was insane.

It was the first time I ever saw this on a console. Sure the PC is rampant with this stuff and really made me not enjoy playing online. One guy running around with tons of kills while he jumps and blips around the screen, God I love to punch him/her in the head.

Made me think of the guy who got banned from the resistance online play by Sony for cheating. But I wonder how he got caught? When I went back to the game screen, I clicked in the persons name and it gives you options to talk, view and report. So I clicked report. Maybe if he gets enough people clicking report on his name they will investigate him? I don't know, but I am not enjoying this new found activity on my console, but it also looks like this may become more prominent with the life of the system.

Plus, I don't want my Ps3 to turn into a bomb!

PS3 can do EVERYTHING!

If the commercial is really telling the truth about the PS3, then this video would be technically true...

How To Beat Home Video Games

These videos on how to beat your Atari 2600 games are GLORIOUS!!! You have to watch them, the lines they use are so funny.

My favorite lines are from the ET game, "Atari has made ET a star for the second time" and then from the Starwars, Empire Strikes Back, "You only have to hit the snow walkers 48 times", hahahaha, only 48 times, why not 62 or 33. Such a random number. But just watch these things, they are priceless. Especially when all these games can be beaten in 5 mins or less and the old style radio space music is awesome!

I could have posted more, there are a ton of these videos out there.

Video Game History - Nintendo's Betrayal

Scroll Down to Video Game History - The Death of Atari to see where all this comes from.

Wow, Nintendo is a big dick or should I just assume that all video game leaders are dicks.

. After the NES, they wanted to make the next big thing. The cost and time to put together a cartridge took longer then to write info on CD's.

. They started to develop a relationship with the leading developer of CD's. Which was Sony at the time. Where Nintendo told them that they were partners.. So they started the development of the now known Sony PlayStation.. There were press conference with Sony where Sony openly said that they are working with Nintendo to develop the next big Gaming console.

. Behind Sony's back Nintendo started talks with Sony's competition, Phillips.

. Nintendo gave a press conference where they announced their partner ship with Phillips.

. Sony being burned,"Hell has no fury like a woman scorned". Releases the PS1 and sells more units than the NES, Genesis and gameboy combined.

Well good for you Nintendo, I'm glad that everyone does a little ass raping every now and then.
If anyone has a problems with these stories, take it up with NBC.

Video Game History - Origin of Pac-Man

Scroll Down to see where all this news comes from. Start with Video Game History - The Death of Atari.

This story is pretty short and simple.

. The guys who created Pac-man were treated by the company to dinner. They went to a Pizza place and the first guy who took a slice of pizza. The shape that was left gave the guys an idea.

.The birth of Pac-man.

Pretty uneventful and almost sad. I wanted more like the Donkey Kong story. But I guess they all can't be gems.

Video Game History - Origin of Donkey Kong

Scroll Down first to See Video Game History - The Death of Atari to see where all this comes from.

This is a cute little story.

.The guy who made Donkey Kong was an Asian with limited English knowledge. When deciding upon the English translation for the game. He was told by someone that the English word for dumb was Donkey.

.And being familiar with King Kong, the word Kong is similar in his language for the word monkey.

.So he thought he had called the game,"Dumb Monkey" in his language.

. Today he laughs at what he had thought he called the game because his lack of understanding the English language.

This is pretty funny story. Its the little bits of history like this that I really like.

Video Game History - The Death of Atari

I was watching a program done by NBC the other night. A whole segment called,"Game On" or something along those lines. It was a great story about the history of gaming, at first I thought that these no nothing arsholes are gonna get it all wrong, but they did a damn good job. Stuff that I was really interested in and taught me a bunch of new things. So here are some of the more interesting tidbits that I thought was really interesting.

The Death of Atari

. Atari was the big name in gaming. They had a team of game developers that made all their games.

. One game designer could build a game in 3-6 months by themselves. Its not like today where the list of credits is enormous.

. These game designers would get paid $15,000 a year, for probable designing 2-3 ga
mes that would earn 3-6 million per game.

. After awhile, the game designers asked Atari for a share of the profits for a game that they designed.

. Atari told them that," you guys are a dime a dozen, I can pick a bum of the streets to do what you can guys can do". Ain't it great that the greediness of gaming goes back this far too.

. The core game designers of Atari left Atari and formed their own company, Activision. Here they made there own games and in the first year. This small crew of game designers made a profit of 13 million.

. After the first year of success for the guys of Activision, more people left Atari to start their own company aswell.

. Atari feeling the pressure now says, "We have money, lets get the license to a big
movie and make a game out of that. So at the time the big movie was ET.

. Atari paid the studio 21 million to license the rights of ET to make a game.

. Atari wanting to cash in on the success of ET, wanted the game to be made ASAP. So it can be in the stores for THAT following Christmas to cash in. At this point Christmas was 6 weeks away.

. The crew or guy at Atari had 6 weeks to make ET.

. It was released with critics saying it was the worst game of all time.

. Atari stock begin to fall, ushering in the new age of other systems, Colecovision and Intellivision.

Point being, ET killed the Atari Age or more like Atari shot themselves in the foot.

Resistance 2 Online Competitive Update!

Been while since I posted an update for my kills towards 10,000. I am still slowly plugging away and god does it ever go slow. Again, in an hr I can get around 100 kills.

I don't remember what the number was the last time I posted this. But has of today I have 8011 kills. At 100 kills per day, I should have it done in 20 days. That's if I play everyday, which I don't. But it is getting harder to find COMPETITIVE matches. I hope to get it done before COD-MW2 comes out. I could see if dieing alot more after that is released.

Well, I'm still shooting, bang bang.
