So recently I won a competition on a site called www.Gamerdork.net. It was a fantastic prize from Tell Tale Games. I won the complete season of Tales of Monkey Island, 1 episode of Wallace and Gromit and has a bonus episode of my choosing. Because I was having trouble downloading the other free episode of my choice. Tell Tale gave me the entire first season of Sam and Max free. You can't ask for better service than that. Well Done Tell Tale Gamse and thanks Gamerdork for the awesome Prize!!
So I completed the episode of Wallace and Gromit ,"Muzzled". These are all point and click games where you can move the characters around and have an inventory that you can choose from to give items to people or objects. Its pretty simple concept.
I haven't played a point and click game in over 15 years. So this was a fresh of breath air in regards to gaming types. All the FPS and RTS and sidescrollers, this was a nice break. If you are a fan of Wallace and Gromit, then you are going to love this title. Its essential a episode of Wallace and Gromit where you get to control what happens. Everything is all highlighted and easy to find on the screen, so its not like your gonna miss something.
The cleverness comes in, what items does what on what and in what order do I do it in. This is very well done and because I haven't played these types of games in awhile I was stuck quite often. Mainly because I would look at a item once and then not go back to that item later on, because my thought process was, "I was already there". But you can't do this in these types of games, you have to continuously keep trying things when you are stuck.
The hardest part for me was trying to win the stupid tic tac toe game with the chicken. There's a game that ask, are you smarter than a chicken. So you have to beat it at Tic Tac Toe. So you have to collect bird seed which you then use on the chicken by placing it on a square that you want him to choose, (the wrong square). Otherwise he always win, because he always goes first.
What I was doing wrong was clicking on the birdseed and then on the chicken game. Where what you are suppose to do is start the game and then click on the birdseed and then on one of the Tic Tac Toe squares. I was ripping my hair out, looking up tic tac toe strategies online to see if there was a way to beat an opponent if the opponent always goes first. I'm an idiot.
I enjoyed the game, one because it was different than anything I've been playing recently and two, I am a fan of Wallace and Gromit, so poking around in their world was rather fun. I'd recommend this to any fan of the series and I look forward to trying to other titles.
Here is a video I animated and my wife comped together for the latest video game for the Iphone. From what I am hearing, its getting good reviews. It even got its own full page spread on itunes. Which I heard is unheard of. (That sentence doesn't seem right, I'm sure there's bad grammar there somewhere.
There was a actually gameplay trailer that was shown here awhile ago if you like to see that as well. But I'm sure if you just click the you tube video you could see the game play footage aswell.
I'm not the puzzle fan at home. The wife is the puzzle master, I can't seem to string and move far enough ahead to be any good at them. Maybe if I could shoot the blocks, then maybe I could do better.
I played the first one on the DS, the Challenge of the Warlords and I like it. I enjoyed the RPG element added to the game. Which is funny, because the wife hates it for the reason I like it. She rather there be no running around, fetching quest and getting new armor and weapons.
So When I saw puzzle Quest Galactic for the DS and for $19.00 I figure I couldn't pass it up. Well, the wife hated it and loved it for the same reason has mentioned above. We both set up our own games and while I was level 14, she was level 43. Hardcore, that's what puzzle woman are all about.
I enjoyed it aswell. Its a game that I could pick up, play for 15-25 min or longer and turn off. It was a great way to widdle some time away. Of course if you want a review, you are in on the wrong site, what was good, what was bad, all you get here is me and my brain.
Still......your a guy with a ship, who puzzles his way to saving the galaxy. Yup, that simple. Well, there are a bunch of mini puzzle games/ puzzles for mining, puzzles to open gates, rumors and my favourite, puzzle for ship fights, etc
I found that if you have the right combination of weapons on your ship, you can beat anything. So here is what I had that may help those people who are getting their asses handed to them. To get these weapons, just search around the map at the local stores until you find them to buy or craft them yourself if you get the plans.
I don't know the names, but I know what they do, so just go along with it all.
1)Shield blocker gun(Its not called this, this is just what it does) This gun, keeps the enemy from regenerating his shield for 6 turns. This is a must and cuts down on the overall battle. The longer a battle goes, the more chances that the other guy will win.
2)Net (something or other) Anywho, there are different versions out there, but I found this one the best. It freezes the opponent for 2 turns, plus another turn for every 8 red points they have. Great to get in some good shots with the mines.
3)Take away everything gun. This weapons takes all their points, green, yellow, red and shields and reduces it to zero. This is the best weapon in the game. Makes it go alot faster.
4)The BIG GUN There are alot of variations to the common laser. But this one caused 16 points of damage plus 2 points for every 5 levels in your gunnery skill. So me, putting most of my points into the gunner skill, by the end, it was level 90. So I was doing 30 something damage every time I used the gun. It was my only offensive weapon in the end and it was all I needed.
5)Wasp Missiles Use this while you are building up your gunnery skill. This causes 2 points of damage. Big whoop, but it gives you another point of damage for every yellow block in play. At times it can be really high. A great weapon to use untill you get your BIG GUN.
There are a few others that you can use. But find what works for you. Mostly my strategy was to keep them being defensive, by taking away their points, so they can't use any of their weapons and then taking away their turns so they can't refill their points all the while making it so they can't regenerate their Shields. The strategy worked great and come to the final boss, I beat him the second time around. Which is good.
I really enjoyed this game. Especially for me not being a puzzle person, this was really fun and entertaining. If you like puzzle games at all and enjoy the RPG every now and then. Then you should...like this game.
Oh, also,...you know when the DS says, "don't turn off DS while saving". yeah, you shouldn't do that. I did it by accident, I had died a bunch of times and was sick of doing something over and over, so when the round ended, I switched off the game just has the "do not turn off" warning appeared. What happens?..you lose all your stuff. So I started it up again, my game was gone and the wife's game was gone. She wasn't happy, I only had level 14 to get back , while she had level 43. Sooooo, DON"T TURN OFF YOUR SYSTEM WHILE THE ITS SAVING!!
7.5/10
So even though I have the DS version, you can get his for almost any system, download it on the PSN, PC, probable even the Xbox store, I don't know. The graphics shown in the trailer are not the same ones on the DS. But I'm sure they are all the same great game.
Sticking with BeatFreakers site for a bit. He posted a great article callings shenanigans. Personally I like anything that's called Shenanigans. Here is the article I copied and pasted here, a great read. If you like to check out some more of his stuff, go to the link below in the "Get Your PSN ID" post.
On quick comment on the last post, I did manage to get my PSN ID added to the site, yaaay for me a technology! But it does display a British flag, I guess that will update to the good ole Canadian flag soon enough. I think..maybe.
Recently you might remember an article coming from many of the leading gaming sites after an interview with Activision's chairman of games Bobby Kotick demanding Playstation drop the price of it's console. If it failed to do so by a decided date he stated that they would no longer support the hardware. Now with over 23 million PS3's on the market and what many would agree carries the best looking games, how could any one believe that this was a valuable section of the market. With many arguments stemming from total units sold you cannot argue that this system has the power to evolve farther than anything on the market at this time, but what many do not realize is the hard figures that many people are not aware of. For example lets break down the first few years in sales between the 360 and the Playstation 3, yes I am leaving the Wii out of the conversation and the amount sold no where near translates in to the amount that see daily use. So let's check out the figures using a simple equation of total units sold, divided by time on the market...
XBOX 360 (November 22, 2005) As of January 2009 28 million approx sold (38 months on the market for an average of 736,842 per month) PS3 (November 11, 2006) As of January 2009 23 million sold (26 months on the market for an average of 884,615 per month)
Now correct me if I am wrong, but if we were to match up to two consoles to the exact same period lengths on the market, along side the current trend in sales the Playstation 3 is would move around 31-33 million units in the same period. To be exact it would amount to 33615370 units. That would be almost 6 million units more than Xbox currently has sold in the same amount of time. Factor in Microsoft's sales data and you can't help but wonder how many of those sales would be attributed to replacing RROD systems. Could this be why they have moved 28 million units yet have approx 9 million less subscribers to their online service according to their released information. In December Microsoft announced that it reached 19 million users and only 2 1/2 months later Sony announced that it had passed 20 million. I know both have their advantages but you cannot argue that those stats look great when up against a company that has more online experience than anyone and the infrustructure already in place to support it. You also cannot argue that Sony isn't building something great and soon many more will realize that. With many making valid comparrisions with all the systems you cannot argue that the Playstation doesn't exceed them from a technological standpoint.
However the more I thought about this after reading this article from Activision's chairman, the more I began looking at the company. So lets take a look at Activision a little closer. Activision over recent years have been come to be known as a "plastic" company, with the mass flooding of plastic peripherals starting with the release of Guitar Hero which will see it's fifth reboot along side the addition of even more plastic pieces. Now I know many have followed suit however, this isn't my arguement. My arguments stem from the amount they charge for these packages. Let's run through some of the packages that they currently or will have soon in stores near you.
Guitar Hero World Tour Listed Price: $169.99 Sales Price: $129.00 Total: $150-200 After Taxes Approx.
DJ Hero: Listed Price: $119.00 Total: $145 After Taxes Approx.
Tony Hawk Ride: Listed Price: $119.00 Total: $145 After Taxes Approx.
Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige" Pack Listed Price: $150.00 Total: $200 After Taxes Approx.
Total for 4 games: $690.00
Throw on top of this the fact that the Modern Warfare 2 title alone in the UK will run customers around $90.00 US after Activision just announced that it would be raising prices on the title. However the whooping $150 dollar price tag for the "Prestige" pack that comes with the title, steel game case, art book & what it deems as fully functional night vision goggles, you can't help but shake your head and wonder. Why would they do something like this? Considering most low-end NV solutions start at around $500 you can't help but wonder also how good the quality is for this addition to the package. Not to mention they do absolutely nothing for the game or how it plays, it seems like Bobby Kotick should look in the mirror before he makes harsh remarks about how another company charges. Everyone should know by now that their recent history has involved many good games with terrible quality peripherals that barely make it through the first year of use. So to operate this way and make statements like this in comparison to a company that is offering better quality in their products is like many of the old sayings in the day. Not to mention even Valve has stated it's interest in the system now after so much time of saying it is too hard to develop for. The truth is that it's not harder to develop for, it's just different. Once learned I have been told that it is much easier to develop for and can take many advantages that the other systems cannot.
So I wanted to add my PSN ID to the side bar of my blog. I can't do it. Me and Tech don't get along. We are not even on a speaking basis. And every time I try to update my account info from the site, my computer would reset itself, some java thing or other.
But I did get it with the help of a friend here at work.
Add me if you like, well see if we can shoot or run over each other with some sorta game. And if you like to know how to get one of your own, then click here. He is very tech savvy and knows what he is talking about. Me like dumptruck.
I haven't played LBP in awhile but I still download all the free costumes when I catch them. But the latest set of DLC that you have to pay for it just plain wicked. Yes its $1.99 for one, or $5.99 for all 4. But really I just want the jumpsuit with the proton pack. They are all really cool, I think I will be playing this again sometime soon.
HAHA, I think this is just funny. Last Time I posted on this I had 1500 kills. So I figure I give you an update has to how I am doing. First off, I play an average of 45 min-1 hr for maybe 4-6 nights a week. This usually is between 4-6 matches as well. On average per kill, on a bad game I get 6-8 kills while a good game will be 20-25. But on average my kills fall between 10-13 per game.
So far to date, I have accumulated 2746 kills. Sheesh, still a way to go. But unlike Killzone 2 which forces me to play like a hardcore nutbase with no life for one week, Resistance 2 I can do at my leisure, sure it will take longer. But I'll get there eventually.
So my 60 Gig was filling up. Ended up Deleting a bunch of my PS2 saves and alot of the demos I had to make space for actual games. So I figured it was time to expand my hardrive. Now me and technology don't get along too well. I am like a dumptruck trying to work with Nasa's Super computer. Its just not going to happen.
But I watched a couple of videos online and it seemed super simple. Sheesh, I can do that. AT first I was going to get help, but after watching the videos, pfft, I can do that. or at least I hoped I could.
But even with the videos, there were little things that they left out, one major, others a pain in the butt. So I will tell you the little things that I came across that will help you in this wonderful task. First thing the videos all say, "This is easy and fast". Well there half right, the actually taking out and putting back in of the hardrive is easy. Its the parts that happen before it and during and after that are long and annoying.
So lets begin with What happen to me.
1) I went and got a laptop hardrive , 2.5-inch, SATA 5400 RPM. I got a 250 Gig from future shop. The guy there was first trying to sell me a PC tower hardrive. They are all idiots.
2) Got home and had to back up all my PS3 data on an external hardrive. I had 48 gig to back up, so no thumbdrive was going to work. Luckily I have a external 200 Gig harddrive. Make sure that it is FAT 32. I don't know what that means, all I know is that mine was. If you don't have a external hardrive...kinda makes the process a little...well its not gonna happen.
3)I connected the external and went to systems and choose backup. It then game me a time estimate of 1 hr and 30 min. So I went and watched Jeeves and Wooster.
4) After that was done. I turned off the PS3, flicked the switch on the back and unplugged all the chords on the back.
5) Take a screw driver and flip the little flap on the left side of the PS3 where the HD lettering is. In side you see a little blue screw. A Phillips screw driver. This screw is a little tight, but get a screw driver that fits and it shouldn't be a problem.
6)You can then pull the tab, like pulling the tab up on a can of sardines before you pull back to open them. Slide the hardive to the space that is empty. Watch the video, its pretty easy for this part.
7) Here is what gave me the problems. The screws that hold the hardrive in the case that slides into the PS is held there with GOD SCREWS. These fuckers won't budge. I spent 15 min, shredding the fuck outta one screw, to the point that all was left was a screw head with a round hole in it.
8)All the while I am doing this, a electric screw driver is sitting across from me. This made the world of difference. The other 3 screws came out like butter. The problem being is, when you are using the screw driver that fits the screw. The handle of the screw driver is so small, you can't get any leverage. No matter how hard I pushed on the thing, its just slide around and destroyed the screw head.
9)So now I have 3 screws out and one fucked up one still stuck. So I get needle nose pliers and use the sides of them to pinch what was left of the screw head and twist it out. It took some time, but it FINALLY came out. So what you need is a electric screw driver or a screw driver that fits the screw but with a long enough handle to get good grip. (this all seems very sexual some how)
10)So now I slide out the old hardrive and slide in the new one. I don't know anything about hardrives, so the new one had a sticker on a place where the old one didn't. So I wondered if that sticker needed to be removed. There was nothing saying it had to be removed in the instructions, so with a quick phone call to a friend. The sticker stayed.
11) Then slide the hardrive back into the slot, replaced the screws and pushed it back into place on the PS3. I didn't hear a click like the videos said. But It seemed to be firmly in place.
12) I reconnected all the chords on the back and turned it on. The PS3 detects the new hardrive and ask if you want to format. You say yes, and yes again and in seconds, it is done. That's the part that the videos tell you, "Look, its easy" Of course dumbass, you left out all the nasty parts.
13) I then hooked up external hardrive and went to systems on the PS3, and choose, restore. It then gave me a time of 2 hrs and 30 min to restore all my stuff. This didn't make sense to me, why it takes longer to put back on then to take off.
14)So it gets to 30 min left. I go watch a episode of south part and come back and it says, 20 min left. WHAT??!!But that was 30 min ago. So I come back in 20 min, and it says 11 min left. I come back in 15 min and it says 5 mins left. I don't know what time systems the PS3 works on, but its fucked. So finally, its done.
15) I go and check my data and everything is restored except my trophies. So I have a quick little panic attack. Then remember that it was said that they are backed up online. So I quickly connect to the internet and upload my trophies and all is well.
I started this endeavor at 8:00pm and I finished at 2:30 Am. Mainly because it takes forever to back up and restore your date. The videos just talk about the hardrive itself with no data. I had 48 Gig to restore, so don't be fooled about the time it takes.
The other thing was the trophies. If I hadn't done research about this, I would never have known about the trophies. What if I was a guy who didn't play online all that often. So when I did replace my hardrive, I would have lost all trophies up to the point where I was last online. So make sure you go online and sync your trophy info before doing this.
So after all that, it seemed to have work. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't blow up at some point. But if I can do it, than any fool can do it. But at least now you have a little more info to help you along the way.
This is pretty freaky looking. Some guy takes pics of people dressed has Nintendo characters. I must admit, I don't know a few of them. I just don't , who the hell are they? the other ones just look like some random Japanese character from some weird cartoon. Well here's a few and check out the link for the rest of them.
At last!!! A song that is totally about video games and woman. This is what I've been waiting my whole life for!!.. no!! ...I'm not that lame....or am I?
Well it looks as though the super edition of the upcoming game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is coming with a pair of working night vision goggles. I wonder how many reports there will be of nerds hiding in the bushes of some girls house, or people running around dark areas like cemeteries, wooded areas, or just at home.
Either way it's probably gonna cost a pretty penny (and a kidney)
I often go online to find hints and guides or strategies on how to do the really frustrating stuff with games. Some of the stuff is just plain ridiculous that certain games ask you to do. So I figure some good ole fashion assistants from people who've done it is in order.
But what do you get from these people who have done these insane challenges. Well they all have that same attitude. "THIS ISN'T HARD", "STOP BITCHIN" "IT ONLY TOOK ME 53 hrs, STOP COMPLAINING", "IF YOU PLAY 2 HRS A DAY, THEN YOU CAN HAVE IT COMPLETED IN 100 DAYS", and the best and most common and useless comment given when asked how to do something difficult, "WELL, I DID IT"
These are actually comments I got from forums and hints advice. Its insane, there's this one guy I like who is talking about doing the sub-zero challenges for MK vs DC and his attitude through the whole thing while he is doing it is," This isn't hard, I don't know what people are talking about". But his video is not even helpful, it doesn't tell me when to exactly to press the button, its just him doing it. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HELP ME??!!! Yaaaayyy, I saw someone do it, but it doesn't tell me how, you frikken turd!
So its easy to say that there are some HARCORE gamers out there that, that's all they do. They play games 24/7. We've always come to the conclusion that these people are always kids with no responsibilities or fat lazy people with weird voices who sit at home and play games and eat nachos while they live off their parents in the basement. That's the stereotype anyway.
But I figure I do up a little quiz that you can do to see just how much of a hardcore gamer with no life you actually are! Give yourself a point every time you answer yes to any question.
Gamers with No life Quiz
1. Do you buy every game that comes out just because it is said to be the next big game for the system?
2. Do you buy games because they are cheap/sale even though you arn't interested in the game?
3. Do you buy games just to increase your trophy/achievement score?
4. Have you ever blown off your friends to play games?
5. Have you ever played games for 12hr or more straight?
6. Do you belong to a clan, raiding party, online gaming community?
7. If so, do you set up weekly online matches?
8. Do you own more than 3 gaming systems?
9. Do you own or have you ever played, Hanna Montana?
10. Are you a person that doesn't finish most of the games you play? (Finish everything, this does not mean, getting to the last level and quiting)

19. Have you ever left a game on over night to play the next day?
20. Do you buy more than 1 game a month?
21. Have you ever had simulated sex in a game that you have played?
Like I said, give yourself a point for every "YES" you answered.
1-5: Your an ordinary person who likes playing games for fun.
6-10: You know what you are doing and are no slouch in the gaming world. Competitive and Fun!
11-15: Your Hardcore, whether you believe it or not. Its the last step before you actually have to think about staying at home and playing or going out to meet women or men.
16-20: You really let games define who you are. The 12 year old kid, or the nacho eating fat person who lives in his parents basement. Congratulations.
So I took my own test and I came out with a 8/20. Not bad!!
And of course this test is tested and proven to be fact by me and my brain. So its almost like the Bible. yeah, right!
So after 6 months have passed, I've finally went back to resistance 2 to try and beat it on superhuman and get the hidden trophy. Why didn't I do this back when? Not because it was hard, but because I had already played through the game twice on normal and I was no mood to do all that again on difficult and again on superhuman.
Which I didn't like, in order to get to superhuman, I had to beat it on difficult. That's a pain in the ass. But enough time had passed that I didn't mind going through the game a 3rd and 4th time. Actually, by the time I made it through the 4th time, I flew through the game.
After beating Killzone 2 on Elite, Resistance 2 on Superhuman was a cakewalk. What really helps is that all the Chimeran now have the bullseye Mark 2. So yeah, it makes them more lethal, but it also means that you can mow them down just has fast by picking up one from dead guy.
Some tips on beating on Superhuman.
There really arn't that many. Once you get your hands on Fareye (sniper rifle) Don't use it to kill regular enemies, hold on to it and use it to take down Augers and Ravengers. These types of enemies can be a pain in the ass and use up all your ammo with most guns. But a quick flip of the fareye to the head and its smooth sailing.
I really did, just keep a sniper rifle with me the most of the time when I could. That and an auger, and if I couldn't get my hands on that, than the readily available Bulleyes Mark 2.
If you are going through the game on superhuman, then you most likely know where every enemy is going to pop out and when. This is a big time saver. I just ran threw the levels and popped shot the baddies in the heads has I ran around corners. Getting the surprise on them was a big advantage. But once they see you, don't stay in the open.
Don't be Rambo. You CANNOT stand toe to toe with any enemy in the game. You get hit, you run for cover or duck. The game is not stupid hard, but it will punish you for trying to run and gun a group of enemies head on.
Don't be afraid to use your grenades on a group of enemies that are giving you trouble. You can always get more.
That's about it. After you beat the game, you get the Gold trophy which I must say, has a awesome name.
The OMGWTFBBQ!
I don't get the BBQ part. O my god, what the fuck Barbecue, Why Barbecue? Anywho, I got it, its mine. Now all I have to do is get 10,000 kills online and I can get my Platinum. Yeah, right. I'm only at 1500 kills. I read the average length of time to do this is play 5 days straight online. Who has that amount of time??!!
Kids , that's who. Kids and people who no lives outside of gaming. I always wondered, where does the line of "no life" start. But that's a different post.
There are a number of TANK characters to use, probable far better ones. But I like the underdog, the guy who's abilities are strange and unorthodox. So for the Tank of my team, I had Colossus. I was pretty excited that I they put him in the team, I either wanted him or Nightcrawler.
Powers to Use:
Soaring Strike. Its a great radial power that sends all the enemies skyward, great to break up the overwhelming odds sometimes. Put points into this one and avoid earth quake.
Thick Skin. A Boost that affects the whole team. It reduces the amount of damage one takes. It is only a small amount, but when it affects the whole team, its a great addition. Max out this one quickly for full effect.
Pulverizing Punch. Another great crowd control with a stun built in, great power for lost cost. A must have.
Powers for Backup:
Take Down. A decent single enemy take down, that deals a great deal of damage. But for the most part, you will be going against groups of badguys, so its ok to have every now and then. Get it if you want to see variety.
Powers that Suck:
Earthquake. A radial power which knocks them up in the air, but if you keep hitting the button, its hits again and again, at the cost of high focus points. There's just too much energy needed to use this efficiently. Soaring Strike is a way better option.
Intimidation. A power that makes the enemies run away, but it doesn't last long. They just run straight back at you in a few seconds. Why not using soaring strike to send them all into the air. You do damage and you knock them off their feet, its almost the same amount of time that they are out. Just don't even bother with this one.
Which Costume did I use? Well, I have to say that I like the classic costume the best, because that's the one I remember in comics when I read them. But its stats are the best.
So I stuck with the Astonishing. It raised my melee damage and power damage. So its a great combo. Ultimate is a great costume to boost your melee skills, while Retro gives you the extra health needed to dish out the power moves. And sadly Classic is really only good to move him up levels faster with extra XP. The boost stats are OK, but meh!
And this is how I played Colossus, again, he was the muscle of my team. Great guy, he likes longs walks on the beach and a good woman.
I like the odd characters that you rarely see thrown into the mix for theses games. I get tired seeing the same handful of heroes used over and over again. Its always, Wolverine, Spiderman, Ironman, Thor, Daredevil, Storm. The same bunch of characters are used alot for the capcom fighting games, so its good to see lesser known characters.
This one, was one of my favourites to use. Always in my main roster.
Powers to Use:
Venom Blast. This is the main power that I used, its low cost and high damage plus the fact that you can charge it for double damage, makes this a MUST have power. It might be one of the first powers you have, but it does the job well.
Ensare. This is a great way to control large groups of enemies. It will hold the enemy so they can't attack and can't move for up to 18 secs plus dealing a fair amount of damage. A great way to slow things down when it gets hectic.
Metabolic Aura. Simple, she can heal herself and surrounding teammates. Sure its not much in the starting levels, but because you are going to ignore other powers of hers, then its pretty easy to put alot of points into this one and make it a great addition to her arsenal.
Powers for Backup:
Spider's Blood. Mainly good in tight spaces. This bouncing ball , well, it bounces off walls and around enemies with a 50% to stun enemies. Again, its only good it tight spaces, in open spaces, you are not getting your full potential. Stick with the other 3, go with this to see something new.
Powers that Suck:
Bio-Electric Surge. A group effect power. Simply put, it knocks back your enemies with low damage. Too much power for little effect and little assistants. Stay away.
Spider's Bite. 4 balls of energy that shoot out and move with Spider-woman has she moves. Its a useless range with low damage. Stay away.
Attract. Spider-woman is a ranged fighter, so having a ability to attract enemies and attack her is not a good idea, even with the 50% damage reduction. You may think that's good, but it only provides 50% damage reduction to one type of damage type that is being used. So you are fighting a group of enemies, one group is using energy attack, one is using elemental attacks and the 3rd are melees. The damage reduction will randomly choose 1 to be reduced by 50 %. This is not good, by any means.
All 3 of these suck , don't waste valuable points into them. Which outfit should you use to compliment these power choices. The Classic outfit is the best choice. Because you are concentrating on using venom blast and ensnare has your main arsenal, then having the bio energy mastery ability is great to have. The resistance bonus is a nice little touch. It works well.
The Agent of Shield outfit, is a write off. She is not a melee fighter and this boost all melee skills, leave the punching to the tanks of the group.
The Secret Wars outfit is OK. It has one good ability of increasing max health and then a useless one with a 25% chance to increase your levels by 1. 1..really a whole 1 level. Its not even worth it.
The Spider-Girl outfit is OK to start with. It has the great Bio Energy Mastery skill and the increase XP skill. So its great to start with, but after awhile, its good to switch over to the classic.
So that's what I did with Spider-Woman, and it worked pretty well.
